Is it possible to make a "ghetto" short shifter by just shaving a few inches off the stock shifter? I think ive heard of people on the boards doing this? Any down sides to that? Thanks for the help.

Yeah its pretty easy. I just used a saw to cut the shift rod down 1.75". I was a little nervous at first but there is notheing to screw up. There is no performance gain but it looks really nice.
