this just happened like 5 mins ago i had to come back and share my story. I was taking a friend for a ride. Him and i are supposed to race he has a 2003 stang GT, conv., ATX so i was showing him what i have... last time i ran was with just and intake in which i ran a 15.2. Anyway on with the story we pull up to a light that was still red, and notice a green GS-T sitting there i was like "look man its an eclipse GS-T" so i am expecting an A$$ whoppin quick. Well light turns green i was still barely rolling 5mph or less and i get right beside him. He looks over and we both punch it, and i swear up to 40-45 mph we were dead even (i BS you not) then he started to pull on me so i slowed down. i am so pissed cause i didn't keep going.hopefully he heard my exhaust get quite so he knows i stopped tryin', and the fact i couldn't launch from a stop cause we all know a cougar is terrible with a street start (5-60 mph). Overall i believe i shocked him a bit cause it was VERY close till 45 mph anyway thought i would share. tell me what u think, thanks Jeremy

why did you give up man?! the cougar has great mid/top end.
I would say you gave him a good run. Also keep in mind a GST has 40 more HP than you stock. So...yeah you did good. The eclipse also weighs about the same as the cougar.
I raced a 1st gen GST and bearly walked him. I was supprised.

I know this that is why i am so pissed about it. I guess it was my mind set of i was gonna get my A$$ handed to me so i was to easy to give up. I would pay serious money to have that race back, from a dead stop i think it may have been interesting. All i heard was my exhaust and his turbo and BOV i usually never back down till at least 80 mph or so i am disappointed i didn't this time. o well i made all of us proud against a faster car... even with my mods.

we generally lose our races in high second/low third gear... too bad you didn't keep going :)
in my case
I won the gts, but I am not sure he has manual or auto
mine has just weapon r intake, yodude dual exhaust with dynomax
but I agree with cougar 3rd gear is too slow than gts, or rsx-s.

what do gs-t's run stock as far as psi? cause 14lbs maybe
what the boost comes at stock. maybe he's just running
stock boost.

Nope if it's 2G I think it has a T25 and it's running around 7-8psi
I THINK correct me if I'm wrong. And on stock fuel pump and injectors
he could safely take it to about 11-14 but that seems high to me.
Especially if it starts out so low. The reason I thought that maybe
stock boost, was because I've driven my friends WRX after we installed
the boost gauge and I watched it spike 14psi all day long... stock!
Now it's like 16.5-17psi and sounds like a hoover vacuum hehe
good luck if he's running 14 psi

nope stock 2nd gen eclipse BOV's leak above 12 psi with his HKS he has the ability to run 14 lbs. unless there is more to his story then he tells me, already embarrassing enough for him to have a high 14 or VERY low 15 sec car hang with ur turbo lol.
O btw he did say "hey man i thought the new cougars were slow, you SH** kinda quick" i was just LMAO!

The guy should have been able to take you, the stock BOV actually leaks around 11lbs. And 14lbs is as high as you want to take the boost on the stock turbo and fuel system. I wouldn't think you would be able to keep up, but good job.

I raced a GSX once. I thought they would be a little faster than they are. My friend's 2nd gen Talon ran 13lbs of boost till he got an HKS bov. Now he runs 16lbs.
