Are you painting the whole car, or are you just going to blend in the rear clip?

ketchup, theres actually quite a few of these in repairable lots around, just a matter of finding the places. if u want, i could pm u some sites around iowa that have/get cougars in once in awhile.

we're just getting a good rear clip (behind the doors) and painting / blending that with the rest

If you don't mind me asking....what did you initially pay for your cougar? And what about the rear clip?

paid $7000 for the car, about $1500 for the clip

but then theres the extra $100/month that goes on insurance just because i turned 16, not for a car or anything, just for my bday present

yes v6 and mtx, as for the "OUCH", this price aint bad considering the $14,125 that its worth. 2/3 of the price for the same car, not bad.

Yeah, I didn't know that it only has 4k miles on it. Not a bad price, but that is still high end price since you are having to put on the whole rear clip.

SITE UPDATE: STAGE 3 pics added from last nite. pretty much the whole rear inner is stripped

just went parts shoppin today... bought a perfect rear clip, perfect quarters and rear, but no hatch for $750
still need a hatch, will get that either new/used for less than $400

dont have parts here yet, the slavage yard still has to cut it off, should be here tuesday, will keep it updated

From the pictures, I really can't tell why you clipped it. But I know everything is different in person. Looks good ;)

its very simple, the other option was get a new rear inner and new quarter panels. the quarter panels go all the way over and under the doors to the fenders, this in turn, means $350/each. plus the rear inner for around $100, thats over $800 and a lot of pulling to get it back straight. the rear clip was $750 and everything fits like or better than new. so the clip was cheaper and easier than the other way.

by the way, we got it all welded together and everything fits perfect the first try!! the blue, yellow, and black looks very, well, different.

You should keep the whole yellow/blue paint scheme going ;)

if it wouldve been orange, black, or maybe even red we were gonna think of just blending it. but light blue and yellow.... thatd be a tough blend.
