Saturday night we were gathered in Indy to get ready for the upcoming TeamNECO Hardcore Kitty Convention. We were on our way to the fairgrounds to see "World of Wheels" when a perfect opportunity came up. Three lanes at a stoplight open. Curbscraper with his fiance in a Melina Blue without sports package, so he had 15s. BleedBlue driving Crispy's car with Crispy and Jason (another cougar owner but not on boards yet) in the car. My car was being driven by my bf Mark with Sonza and me in the car. We all have ATX's (yes I know  )
The light goes green and curbscraper takes off ahead of either mine and Crispy's car. Crispy and I both have the precat guts and intakes too. Curbscraper I don't think has much done with performance yet, so it has to be the wheels. We had more weight, but I am pretty sure it has to be the wheels.
Any thoughts? and not about the ATX's ;) . . .

My 15's are pretty light maybe it was the size that made the difference.
And the diameter is smaller but I'm not sure if the overall diameter of
the tire and rim is smaller. If it is then I would assume it would give the
car better take of. The smaller the diameter the more revolutions per
minute? correct:shrug: or maybe he has a freak Cougar

Freak cougar. 15's would help a little...
I have 15's and I know my third gear is faster than other v6 mtx cougars which had i/e mods and 16's +. But in atx's... i really don't think it would make that much of a difference

i have stock 15s and 16s. the 15s with stock firestones and 16s with kumho 712's. My car does feel faster with the 15s on.

Kyle had him off the line with my car... he slowly caught up and passed us... I think it was the 15's and the fact that my fat ass was in the backseat with 2 other people in the car... he had himself and his GF only... plus he probably turned off OD... which at the moment I can't...

i heard the 15 inch wheels are heavy
15s with stock tires are the same diameter as 16s with stock tires, which are the same diameter as 18s with a certain rating low profile tires(i forget which).

so if 15's are same diameter and we all had atx's, then scrapincougar you just got a wicked car...

I'm gonna agree... my car had 3 people in it.. and the other 2 only had 2 passengers in it.. I think I should have easily had him if you wanna compare performance mods... I have...
SVT TB
Gutted Precats
Borla Single Exhaust
KKM
Polished Intake Tube
I think ScrapinCoug99 had a custom exhaust and I think intake? (did I get that right?
not sure about comparing systems as far as weight but I know my fat ass in the backseat certainly could not have helped... :(

+100lbs = +.1 seconds in the 1/4mile. Passengers make a difference. heck even a full tank of gas makes a difference.

Don't worry, I was slowing Mary's car down more than you were hurting your car. I think the fact that Kyle had one less person in his car was probably enough to give him the edge.

If gas counts too, we filled up before going to Indy so we had at least 3/4ths tank.
Plus Crispy ;) we had guys behind the wheel, you know if it was us behind them we would of smoked them. (j/k guys ;) )

yeah that full tank of gas certainly wasn't helping you guys out... just think of this... a gallon of milk weighs...? plus your gas tank carries X amount of gallons, that's alot of weight

Whats up. If u remember crispy. I just filled up at the station. I had full tank, two pass, and full of stuff. I did not even have a intake yet. I just got a wicked fast cat. I cant wait to get some more power mods done and see the diff. I do have duals but the are custom made. I noticed the biggest gain in take off with ground control. Now my car doesnot squat bad when i take off. I think that helped alot. I hope to keep winning but i dont count on it.
