welp ive decided not to go and get the 3.0 upgrade.
instead im getting a quote on a built Nitrous engine. I have an idea of it being around 4k. I figure might as well build a juice machine, since cougars aren't exactly muscle cars. So hopefully by lets see i say 5 to 6 months i should have a 12 second juice box. Hope to see ya guys on the track when im done or before that at one of the meets.

cougars arent juice machines so be careful. pm spaceboy cause he's running 100shot direct port nitrous. he'll be able to fill you in on the do's and dont's

12 seconds is a big number to hit. even with nitrous you'll still only be in the 13's with nitrous plus alot of work done to your car.

this is a complete engine built for nitrous, the engine allows a 250 shot of nos.
i figure that cold air induction and all that jazz, plus a good muffler system and some minor lightning of the car im hitting 12s.

ah ok doing the motor. good luck with the 200 shot. thats a monster jump. just a tip but with all that power your much better off getting performance axles,LSD(limited slip differential), and a adjustable suspension rather than lightening your car. our cars are spin machines off the line with alot of power under the hood. if ya wanted to go a bit farther with it too you could have the gearing in the tranny hardened and shaved. also you'll DEFINATELY want solid as you can get motor mounts with that much power under the hood. good luck with everything.

i'm the first NECO member that gets to take it for a spin...heheh.

When he gets his cougar built up i think we will now refer to him as the rocket man.

Once you take a good look at the aftermarket for the Zetec, I don't think you'll be too embarassed...

Supposingly, our drivelines aren't the strongest in the world. Sounds like your trying to grenade your tranny. :cover:

Like I said 12 seconds is a big digit number(moneywise). gotta keep everything in perspective too(drivetrain, mtor, suspension, tires etc...)

My personnal opinion is either a S/C or T/C with nitrous. Massive driveline mods and strengthening. Honestly if you can get another type of tranny to fit that's stronger do it. Suspension and tires are a must. Carbonfiber and fiberglass here and there but with the amount of power your gonna need to hit 12's I wouldn't do anymore than the hood. Lotsa and lotsa and lotsa dyno tuning.

It's a very costly job to hit 12's with a Cougar but it would be sweet to see.

yes it would, i am not going to do a single mod to my car untill i have that done, i might do my bodykit first because of insurance thing, which i explained in the I NEED A BUMPER! thread, but other than that every little penny is going towards the NOS fund.
