i was just reading the supercharger install instructions..
and there is one section for FMU and fuel pump install and it said (RETURN FUEL SYSTEM ONLY)
then right after it is a section fro fuel injector installation, saying (RETURNLESS FUEL SYSTEM ONLY)

sooo.. what gives..
can returnless people get a vortech now?

i do not believe so. Nor will they ever if they haven't by now.

But don't believe for a second that should stop anyone who has a returnless setup from getting one...

All you need is:

(a) Bigger injectors. SVT 19lb or 24lb ones should work fine
(b) A way to tune fuel and spark... which is accomplished either with a custom burnt chip (an ok solution) or a Greddy E-manage (the best solution)

regardless of vehicle, turbo, supercharger, return or returnless, I'de pickup a Greddy for the ultimate in tuneability.

I just burned a flip chip for a return S/C last week. A returnless wouldn't be much more difficult.

ding ding ding we have a winner

does the chip just tune the A/F map or does it also pull back a bit of spark at the top end of the rev. range?

I can do whatever you want. I have full access to all EEC V and EEC IV parameters. I was able to tune my stock maf to 30lb injectors for the turbo on my 00 SVT. My fans come on at 200 degrees, my rear O2's shut off, knock sensor disabled, timing full adjusted, rev limiter, you name it.

what kind of chips do you use for the burn, or do you modify the actual ECU...

i'm very interested in this service (if you provide it to others)... i don't have force induction but do plan on doing some very significant mods

I'd hate to be the guy who tries to be a salesman on the forums. I can burn a chip that strikingly resembles a Diablo chip but runs a custom program. I can burn a chip for anything, no mattter how small the mods. Anyone can send me private mail regarding it.

does vortech "officially" not blow up now?

BTW ov3n, you forgot VVTl-i and GTR

yeah, vortech solved that problem

The Vortech Charger v1 had a 100% jackshaft bearing failure rate. That was fixed in all subsequent revisions. I've put 1300 miles on mine and had no problems whatsoever.

As for the returnless, the instructions you saw refer to the Contour SVT and not the Cougar. I have no idea why they didn't just carry it over. Probably liability concerns or something.

Bigger injectors (as mentioned in the instructions) and Kaisers custom program probably won't cost you much more. Definately cheaper than doing a custom setup.

any 1/4 mile times with SC's yet? this could be a viable future upgrade for me ( in like, 2 years lol) b/c I found out I have a return system.

Hello this is Carson from ITS turbo.
We are putting a Vortech on a returnless setup now.
I am getting a set of 42lb and a custom calibrated 75mm air meter for it and our upcomming turbo setup
I will keep you all posted on how it turns out.
I am extremely happy with our 2.0 zetec Focus with the same setup.
