Well, I went ALL over the city today and got estimates ranging from $1300-$2000 for the paint on the Z3 fenders, Roush kit, 5mph bumper and grill insert NO INSTALL. I visited 7 reputable shops and only took pics with me (with and without install/paint) Needless to say....bodyshops are VERY weary of fenders matching and the fact that they are fibreglass didn't help. No-one wants to touch the stuff. Not to mention that 90% of the shops are SOOO busy, the cheapest guy was booked till mid May......Even the SVT dealer turned down a guy for a full paint job on a 67 T-Bird (OVER $5000) b/c they are just to busy.

Well, I was pretty pissed so I walked over to the Chrysler Dealer next door to shoot the **** with my dad's old friend (the owner of the dealership) and he tells me he's got a bodyshop and I should go talk to them. So I strolled over and talked to the guy....Without him knowing I know the owner he quoted my $750 + tax for EVERYTHING and they can do it next week. Needless to say.....I said sign me up!

I went back to the owner and told him I was impressed with the price, he replied "make sure you let me know when you bring everything in, I'll personally oversee it" So I'm pretty happy right now. HOPEFULLY the price stays the same.

How are you guys doing in terms of estimates?

Just had to post my excitement!!.....Now......to get my ass over to the exhaust place to get it cut correctly

UPDATE: READ MY 5th post down!

I just find it weird how your estimates can vary by so much. How do you go from $2000 to $750? Something just doesnt add up.

I would ask A LOT of questions if I were you. Just to make sure they're doing everything you expect. :)

Trust me....I thought the same......but we'll have to wait and see. I'm taking the stuff in Wed.

Also, if you wanna hear a real deal.....you guys know Dana right.....the one with the Sonoma that swung by the BBQ. His buddy (that painted his truck) is repainting it in a triple flip clearcoat (purple/green/blue) for $1500, and my buddy Brents cavalier in a Candy Red with silver flake, aswell as shaving the handles, antenna, and rear decklid lights for get this......$1800!!! It's all about who you know eh....and if I didn't have to wait till June to get my car in there.....it would have a whole new paintjob as well. (maybe next year)

No, it sounds about right.

I got my SW front bumper, ww front, sides, rear, taillight covers, grill all 8 pieces painted and installed for $600. And it only took them 3 days :) hehe of course this was during the summer (not as busy as winter, due to all the collisions).

btw, hey guys :) havent dropped by in a while....

Well, I picked up everything (stock wing, full Roush kit, bumper cover, No limit Grille, and one Z3 fender.....the other one (which was cracked at the mirror corner is still there.....) I had it in my hands ready to go...painted and all.....then I saw a crack in the paint at the front corner....needless to say....it's being stripped of the paint and re-fibreglassed....NOW I KNOW WHY SHOPS HATE THEM!!!!

I have pics, and will post them tomorrow! the skirts and fender look SWEET!!!!
