I'd be down, depending what time it is since I work on saturdays. Let us know when you hear any more info, and which campus its gonna take place in.

Oh, sounds cool  Can I go too?

Edit: I did a search and I can't really find anything about that show, but I did find that Import Expressions (http://www.importexpression.com/) will be in Flushing, Queens on March 29. Maybe we can crash that show too?

Does anyone know a good place thats reasonably priced to go to for brakes in suffolk? I'd figured i would just go to my old mechanic, but im not sure what to do about that stupid overhead light sensor. I guess the dealership would probably do the best job, cause i dont want any squealing when i brake. And other stupid mechanics just say oh its metallic brakes, but the dealer will put the exact ones on, but they will also rip me a new asshole.

If your not under warranty, why not do the brakes yourself??

Im not under factory warranty, but im under the extended warranty, but i dont believe that would cover brakes. As for doing it myself, i wouldnt trust me to do something that if i did it wrong, kill me. I dont wanna try doing pads and rotors and who knows if i need to do anything with my calipers. Im not sure if its just my pads that need to be changed, i probably need rotors too.

Dude, Changing pads and rotors is nothing. The pads have sensors in them, and thats why your light came on. If you want to save money, Buy the good Rotors, and pads, and Ill help you put them on. It is pretty damn easy. There is no reason you should have problems with your calipers if you just need to replace pads. But, if you dont trust it, KT brake is a good place over here in Port Jeff. Theyve done brakes for a few people that I know.

I probably am gonna do the pads myself, Its just the rotors, i wont really know if they should be changed or not and its so cold. How much do you think it would be if i bought pads? And how much do you think a place would charge? I wanna do it myself, i just dont feel like jacking the car up 4 times. I wish i had a lift.

Im not sure how much a place would charge. Just call them to get an estimate. As far as the rotors go, drag your finger across and feel for any score marks in the rotor. If they are smooth then they are fine. They are easy to change anyway. You want want to look into the
KVR group buy thats going on right now. Anyway, when your ready to do it, you can come over here and use my garage to change em. We can put your chip in as well. Maybe next weekend will be good. Ill let ya know early in the week
And BTW, Sorry Joe for Hijacking ya thread
:slap:

Bastards!!!

Matt, brakes are easy, and you could get raybestos brakes from pepboys for less than $30, and they are replaceable forever. If you want to go that route. You could get performance pads also, but if you have regular rotors, I can't see there being a big difference.

Let me know when you are going to do this, I STILL have not put my chip in my car either.

So who is gonna go to the car show?
Anyone want to enter?

Ha, I should, but I don't have my kit yet :banghead: Or if you guys want to come over everyday until the end of March and help me wax my black car  Riiiiiiight. Hmm, Chris' car is shiny enough to show...

Bazooka, what chip do you have?????

Diablo
But I need to put a jumper in, and I haven't done that yet.
I also need to fix my fuel pump, and don't want to put the chip in until after that is fixed. You would think that I would get my car to the shop to fix the pump problem, but is hasn't.

so you think if im not upgrading my rotors, the raybesto pads will be just as good as the other pads???

Also, NYKat, i got my gauges last night and just hooked them up quickly to see how they look, and it does actually glow a blue. Not that bluish green that most indiglo's do, but a true blue, so i will definitely be installing them, probably when we do my brakes. Is sunday good?

I have had raybestos on a few of my past cars and they worked great. Save your old pads!!
If you have your receipt and the box you got the new pads in, you can trade in your used raybestos pads for new ones. For real!! What I do is save my old pads, if I don't have another car, when the raybestos are used up, take them off, put on the old ones. Drive back to pepboys and exchange them for new ones. It sounds crazy, and cheap at the same time, I know!! But, that's saved money to blow on something else useless!!

Anyway, speaking of car shows ( custom_images/emoticons/shocked.gif ), I've been trolling the Celica boards too and I'm getting my bf and some of the Celica guys to attend the Import Xpression show on March 29th. I'm even going to one of their meets, I think I'm going crazy. Anyway, you guys have to all come to this show so we can show these imports that our cars are bad ass and we can kick some Toyota butt  It'll be fun! Oh, plus there will be lots of half nekkid chicks walking around like last time! Bring your cameras!
