yeah i been there a lot. I just wanted any opinions from you guys who have the mods already done.
I want to get the biggest bang for my buck, so first things first i want to upgrade to the 3.0L v6 and go from an ATX to a MTX. i realize this is probably very costly but i want to do this before i go ahead and do the "smaller" things

not really a "best" exhaust... mostly goes on what your preference is... borla is highly recommended by many people but they are costly (mostly because of the borla name)... yodude also sells exhausts which are cheaper and are also good. allthe other exhaust brands someone else can tell you about cuz i don't know much about them. then, it all depends on how loud you want it to be.....

sound isnt the big thing, its performance.
i am tinkering with the idea of enlarging my manifold and have 2 straight pipes from the exhaust. my friend is all about straight pipes and stuff, so he trying to talk me into having it done. Says it adds much more horse. No muffler no cat nothing. just straight pipe, prehaps with a chromed out silencer on each end.

Borla is the best (quality wise), but also most expensive and IIRC they dont make it anymore, so finding one may be hard. Yo-Dude would be right under the Borla and IIRC for $300-$400. Performance is within ~1-3HP, so about the same. Whatever you do make sure you get Stainless Steel. All Borla's are SS but some Yo-Dude arent.

And welcome aboard.

One more thing, if you're going to do a ATX/MTX swap along with the 3.0L, it might be much cheaper to just go out and find a high mileage used MTX to begin with.

if ur going to have straight pipes then u won't be doing much modding because ur going to be paying a lot of tickets

Welcome!

I have a Yodude SS Dynomax Duals w/a Hi-flow Y-pipe w/out the CAT. Best $800 I've ever spent. Great gains at high rpms, especially for the ATX. Sounds like a stock Mustang GT.

If your serious about doing the 3.0 swap, you'll want the YoDude exhuast because of it's 2 1/2" piping.
I believe that the other exhausts are all either 2" or 2 1/4" piping.
