I have the '01+ aluminum pedals and can't figure out how to remove the gas pedal. I don't see any screws to just pop it off.

If I remember correctly you can't just pop off the pedal (the two parts are molded together). The only reason I remember this is because the people that have 99/00 Cougars that wanted the 01/02 had to buy the whole pedal assembly (pedal with pedal arm).

Hey man,
I remember you have to remove the entire assemlbly...if i remember right there are three screws that you need to remove, detach the pedal from the throttle cable, and take out the entire assembly. Once you do that you should be able to pop out the pedal and put the new one in.
Hope that helps....

What DgnZCoug said, the brake pedal slips on and off but the gas is the full pedal.

If you are doing some sort of aftermarket pedal it is simple to just go right over it!! There is no need to remove any thing fromthe gas pedal!

for the Ford Aluminum pedals you need to unbolt 1 screw I believe up twards the top of the pedal arm for the gas pedal and then you just disconnect the throttle cable from the rear of it.. slip the new arm/pedal back the same way and re-bolt down.. When I bought mine the brake was a cover that you had to pull thru the metal bracket plate.. Rumor has it that the brake is no longer a cover but a full replacement like the gas pedal now...
