was coming back from the gym and on my way up that hill from the gas station we meet at(if you came to my house you know it) some old man in a brandy new lexus creamed a pole. went right through it. only the wires were holding it up. i slow down to check the scene out, no skidmarks, nothing. he looked to be around 70-80 possibly. his airbags went off and the ambulance and cops were on the way down the hill. poor old guy but like i say alllllllll the time...old people should not be driving!!!!

When the glasses are thicker than the windshield its time to call it quits...

I don't mind them driving as long as they're not doing 60 in left lane on the highway and are not going under the speed limit on the local roads.

I've always felt the need for a driver's license re-test at the age of 60 and every 3 years or so thereafter.

there needs to be much stricter testing in the first place, and then retesting every 5-10 yrs til oh around 60, and then every other year after that! there are way too many people, regardless of age, that have no f-ing idea how to drive correctly! i get cut off at LEAST one-two times a day or have people in front of me that fly down the street and then slam on the brakes to turn into a driveway or pull over WITHOUT using a signal.... it's very frustrating to drive around town when half the people on the road can't drive right to begin with...

3 years between tests???? re-test every 6 month's ....

when the blue hairs begin to bend over the wheel so much that the hunch blocks the view of the passenger it is time to get them off the road.

Actually I saw the scene a bit better on the way home tonite. it looks like someone either cut out in front of him, locked up in front of him or he was in a "wetbrain" moment and didn't realize a car in front of him was stopped. Skidmarks go from the lane going up the hill right across directly into the pole. he was cruising cause the marks were about 20 feet long going up hill and he still managed to break the pole in 2.

Funny this comes up now, I think this week alone I've passed more people on the (fast) left lane by going to the (slow) right lane it's not even funny

At a nursing home in Miami, Florida, a group of Seniors were sitting
around
talking about all their ailments.
"My arms have gotten so weak I can hardly lift this cup of coffee,"
said one.

"Yes, I know," said another. "My cataracts are so bad I can't even see
my
coffee."

"I couldn't even punch out the chad at election time, my hands are so
crippled," volunteered a third.

"I can't turn my head because of the arthritis in my neck," said a
fourth, to
which several nodded weakly in agreement.

"My blood pressure pills make me so dizzy!" exclaimed another.

"I guess that's the price we pay for getting old," winced an old man as
he
slowly shook his head.

The others nodded in agreement.

"Well, count your blessings," said one woman cheerfully ...."and thank
God we
can all still drive."
