Well after adding fluid to my Hyd. clutch resv. I decided to look underneath and low and behold the slave cylnd. is leaking  So Now it's one of those things "while your in there changing that" do the clutch (115k), resurface the flywheel, new throughout bearing, trans. mount, and maybe the rear main seal. What freaking timing too, it's 10 "F"ing degrees out! I'll just be adding fluid every other day for a while.

It's always gotta happen when it's sub-zero outside. Sorry to hear that man.
Atleast you seem to know what you are doing I have never had to pull apart
a trans yet. Just motors damn the motors!!!:banghead:

Good luck Jeff

I'm leaning towards having a shop do it, The whole timing of this just doesn't lend itself to me doing it. I've seen quotes of around $800 so will see.

I dropped it off at a shop today. I just couldn't bring myself to wait and do it. I was sitting in a parking lot with the clutch depressed for about 30 sec. all of a sudden it started going forward! Not good, especially considering I drive in traffic every day. Oh well all the money I saved doing stuff myself probably more then offsets this job. It should run me about $700-$800. Should be done Mon.

Good to hear. Shucks though, I wanted to rip apart the truck...I mean heck, dont even need to jack it up:) Oh well, maybe next time. Oh, and lemme know about the dash bulb replacement. If you drive it over here then it'll be warm inside by then and if need be we can keep the car running while installing so we dont freeze our fingers to the dash.

Well I got the truck back today! Not bad 24hr turnaround. $756 And man that clutch pedal pushs as easily as the Cougars! (Slade knows what I mean). It was $300 in parts so I think I made the right decision for sure. The mechanic said the clutch was on its way out too so thats good. Sorry Slade you didn't get to help on this one but I think it's a good thing.

Good deal. yeah, that thing was a lil stiff before. Now Becky might be more likely to take the truck so you can take the car:biggrin:
