Paint headlights or no?

I'm torn, to paint or not to paint. I've attached a pic of Adrian's (Outlaw4Shrt) painted headlights...I really like the look of them, but I am not sure if I want to give up the factory chrome-look of mine. Opinions?


PS - I will be tinting 5% black in a week or so if that makes a difference...

ummm, not sure if it's cause it's in a pic or not but it dosen't look like the paint used on the headlights match. I think the chrome looks pretty cool but I also have a silver car so it kinda matches.

Either way though I say leave it be......

i think the 01-02 style headlights look hot on a black cougar.

i voted painted and after looking at pics of yoru car compared to those with painted heads i thinkg it would look hot either way. But i still vote for painted , with that NL grille insert it will look so original.

I would paint them like I did mine. Paint half black and leave the back chrome.

Leave 'em... I like the look of the black paint on the chrome lights... but then again, I'm biased :cool:

I think the way your car is (EVERYTHING is black, once you get your tint done again) it would look much better if you paint'em.

Personally, to try to match everything, I would just either keep em chrome, or perhaps paint your orange reflector, and put it back in. I'm not sure how I feel about the painted 01-02 head lights. I think they look hot as hell the way they are, once the orange POS reflector is torn outta there. But then again, thats just my .02~!!

I vote leave 'em. I think they'll look better. I'm not a huge fan of the painted headlights. What about the Angel Eyes mod to them? That might look cool and allow you to have some different light.

Everytime I ask a question, opinions are divided 50/50 :) Thanks for the input though...I still am confused. I think I will wait til I decide on rims. If I go silver, then I'll leave the heads...gunmetal, paint them black. Who knows though...black painted heads would look hot with angel eyes.

Personally, I think most of what makes the Cougar's front end look so decent and mean are those headlights...if you black them out, it's just not gonna be the same. I vote keep 'em the way they are...

i say paint them. i didnt like the look of the chrome that much and i hated that god awful reflector. i panted mine black and i think they look so much better.

The headlights definitely match the rest of the car. I got them painted at a shop with the same paint code as the car. I can't recommend painting them enough. The pictures really don't do it justice. I think it really evens out the image and flow of the car, I didn't like the chrome headlights because they stood out so much and I just thought they detracted more then added to the look of the car. Plus everyone has the chrome ones, it's definitely something new and different to get them painted I think. Where it makes the biggest difference though is at night. The car just looks mean, a lot more aggressive, and each individual light stands out a lot more without the chrome insert.

My vote is to definitely paint them, of course I'm a little biased because I've already done it and love it, but seriously, it looks great IMHO.

Dont you mean you had them sent off to be painted, or, rather.... you sent yours off, and got someone elses?
