I was just wondering of those who have these things if you installed them yourself, cuz I was wondering how complicated it is. All I want to have is a single LCD monitor, possibly flipdown, and the Playstation 2 in my glove box, and the sound hooked up to the speakers. I've wired all the neons in my car, and installed my amp and subwoofer myself, so would I be able to pull this off myself? Is it just as simple as splicing wires to the battery, ground, and hooking others up to the console and the monitor? I know I'd probably need a 12V-120V converter right? One of my concerns is how the monitor attaches to the ceiling...do I have to drill any holes or make any permanent marks in the ceiling? thanx for the info.

If you can wire up a system then I think you could do this... Why not try and if you mess up take it somewhere or ask a friend to help.. there is nothing hard about wiring up stuff the hard part is making it look good.. just take your time and be SMART about it and dont half ass anything.. it will help you our if right off the bat you take out the front and rear seats.. also for the ps2 you will need to buy a power inverter. IF you have a battery in the trunk you should run it off of that one.. go and buy a second set of A/V and power cables for the ps2 so you can play it in your car and in you'r house when you want to.. If you have any more questions just ask people will help... If you want some infor from me email me I dont check my pms to often

I've done it a number of times -- if you can follow directions, then you'll do fine

It's easy... just keep the wires separated while you're installing so it's easy to keep track of them!

Yea I installed a screen in the passenger sunvisor and it really isn't difficult as long as you have the right stuff. You gotta but a power inverter to run the playstation and then you have to buy the correct cables to connect the video out of the playstation to the LCD screen and Pioneer also makes a certain connector that allows to you connect the two audio outputs from the playstation to the input of your CD player. The best part about m install was that I put the screen in a sunvisor that already had a 12V source running to it for the lights in the mirror. Then I ran the video cable down the A-Pillar and into the glovebox. Then basically i just ran my power and ground for the power inverter to the battery and mounted that under the glovebox. So I just slide my playstation into the glovebox, plug it into the power inverter and then connect the video and audio cable and I'm good to go. If you need any help just PM me. Hope that helps.

wow thanks a lot for all the replies. I didn't think it would be as easy as that. I didn't know the PS2 cables would plug right into the stereo and monitor like that so easily. The only thing I'm worried about now is what kjracer mentioned, about making it look good. I did a pretty good job hiding all the wires for my neons and system, if you look in my trunk all you see is the amp and the box, nothing else. So all I have to do is get the power inverter, give it juice from the battery and a ground...hook up the LCD to a power and ground, and then just connect the wires from the PS2 to the monitor and stereo. Very nice. Thanks again

Quick question, it was stated that the cables for the PS2 and the Video Screen would plug-in direct to the stereo for sound, does this apply for the stock stereo too? I have the AM/FM tape deck w/ 6-Disc CD changer in the trunk. Also, for the PS2, does it slide "right in" the glovebox, or does it require modding to either the PS2 or glovebox? Thanks!

Bye the way, good tip about the 12V power already running to the visor. I think I'll use that! Is it possible to keep the flip-up piece of the mirror on there, that way it would protect the screen and look semi-stock? Also, what kind of screen did everyone use, and what are your opinions on this? I figure since everyone's already nice and chatty about all this, I can get some good recommendations. Thanks again!

I am using a 7" Farenheit monitor. Your stock radio will not wor, because it does not have RCA jacks. Luckily, there are a few companies out there that make low-line to RCA converters.

you might need to buy like a crossover or something to add a new set of rca plugs so you can hook them up.. My crossover has 3 inputs and and 3 out puts you may want to hook you'r audio up to a crossover to help with the sound .. like have music playing in the back seats and the gam in the front.. Make it look like you put alot into it.. Cus I know siting in the back not playing a game you dont want to listen to it... That is how mine will be set up.. Go to wall mart and buy some phillips rca converters from 1 to 2 and that way you can hook more up.. It is hard to explane. So I hope you understand what im typing lol

Thanks for the info. I understand to a limited extent what was explained. My stocker won't work without a converter to hook-up the RCA cables to. OK, it kind of kills what I wanted to do, however I'll still look into it! I appreciate the responses.

What does a cross over have to do with anything? He needs RCA outputs. At Circuit City they sell converters that change the speaker output to RCA out put. That is how I am able to use my stock indash changer and run two amps.
