Extending side skirts?

all you fiberglass experts feel free...if not obligated...to chime in :) i am considering molding the side skirts off another vehicle, with shorter sides. i would need to extend them quite a bit, as they are originally for a 2nd gen eclipse. what would i need to do do...sorry for the generality of the questions, just not sure where to start.

cut em and mount the 2 sides where they should be and then make a new piece in the middle if you can... or depending on how bad the fit is make several cuts... either way I think it would be alot of work... but nifty as hell if you can do it.. :)
