I am looking at purchasing a new amp to power my Inifinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 and two Phoenix Gold QX124. I can buy the Hifonics Zues Z6400 at online car stereo for $209 shipped (online car stereo) (https://www.onlinecarstereo.com/caraudio/product.asp?sku=11855) or the Autotek SX-4160 from an online ebay store for $260 shipped.

Here are the specs, as you can see, they are very close and one is higher than the other depending on the setup.

Z6400 - 4 X 85WRMS @ 4ohm, 4 X 170WRMS @ 2 ohm and 2 x 340WRMS @ 4ohm bridged.

SX-4160 - 4 X 100WRMS @ 4ohm, 4 X 150WRMS @ 2 ohm and 2 x 320WRMS at 4 ohm bridged.

The Kappa Perfect 6.1 are 100WRMS so the Autotek should make them happy, while the subs are 150WRMS (I think, different info on the web) so either amp would make them happy if I wire them 4 ohm and run the rear channel bridged.

Here is where I see the Pros
Z6400 - Cheaper,
- If I run four speakers of front channels @ 2ohm, I would have 85WRMS at each speaker
- I have always heard Hifonics is a good brand.
- Will run my subs perfectly

SX-4160 - Matches my Kappa Perfect 6.1 Perfectly (no pun intended)
- Will power my QX124 perfect.
- I like the look of this amp

Cons -
Z6400 - 85WRMS on my Perfect 6.1 instead of 100WRMS
- Have to pay tax since I live in Ca (still cheaper than SX)

SX-4160 - If I decide to run four speakers on the front channels @ 2 ohm, they only get 75WRMS instead of 100
- A bit more expensive (not a huge amount ($35)
- Slightly weaker when running the rear channels bridged @4ohm.

I was considering both lines 5ch amps, but the 4xRMS values were so much less. I can do more with the 4 ch amp I think.

If anyone knows anything about these amps, or has one, or know someone that has one (or even another model from the same line, I would appreciate any feedback you may have. Just reading this post over, it seems like I should be considering the Z6400, but the 100WRMS is very attractive.

I would go with a Hifonics. I like their amps. They are built tough they do not have a problem with over heating and they last
But if you like the look of the Autotek, then go with it. Either amp will work fine on those drivers and then some.

Thanks Blast. Have you heard good things about the Autotek? I know both should drive the kappa's, but I have heard the Kappa's are power hungry and don't perform 100% unless you have at least 100WRMS. Although, I can't imagine 85WRMS making that big a difference in their performance.

The infinities speakers are very good, and they can take a lot of power just like any other brand can, as long as you will feed the correct frequencies within their own spectrum. Once you go out of that range you can kiss them good buy wether they were over driven or not.

As far as the amp goes, lets put it this way if you like the looks go for it. The reason is, that amp is using the same components as the other one does, and I really doubt it that you could tell any difference between the two. Now on the other hand if you would compare that amp with another high $$ one were they use or pic only certain components then I would wait the difference.
