Well I have done a lot of the planning early this year. Mini-Fest I was a blast even with a couple hickups so I have looked at the hickups and think this year will go smoothly. We will be staying at a different hotel (which was the major hickup last year). The new hotel is AWESOME to say the least. I plan to add a registry for people attending very soon.

Check out the Mini-Fest II website: Mini-Fest II (http://www.ohioneco.org/cedarpointminifest.htm)

A couple pics from Mini-Fest I are available to look at on the website.

Sounds fun and exciting and all... but last I checked none of us have 88 mph DeLoreans that we can go back in time to Sept of 2002. The New Year curse has hit you. I do it all the time as well.

Kris

On a side note if anyone wants to warm up for this meet I will be going the first week CP opens and hitting all the rides. Tickets are cheaper and the park is only open 10-6pm I think but there is never anyone there and youcan ride everything like 6-7 times a piece. Massive good time.

Sounds good, but way early for me to plan, also the hotel is kinda expensive for me, sorry to say but with the mods I got planned, at this time theres no chance for me to afford it, unless I get a ton of peeps to share a room. But I ll see what I can do in the next 8 months..

John, read a little closer. The plan is to share rooms. Dang, you think we are going to use a 8/10 person suite just for 1 or 2 people. Besides, I plan to have Slade and I registery for our rooms at the same time so we get rooms side by side for the party Sat. night.

Hmmm...Ok...

(1) Yea, nice to plan ahead, but it's too early to commit too. However, despite the minor issues we had at Mini-Fest I (the near death experience in Cat88's Cougar comes to mind...) it was still a Great Time.

(2) Hotel is expen$ive, and I don't like to share rooms, just a personal idiosyncrasy. What happens if we have an odd number of attendees?

(3) The hotel's website is a PiTA, and I hate it. Do web designer's have no clue as to usability or user interaction, or do they just not care? Grrr...

Anyway...still a long time to plan so it's all cool.

I am right with ya on that one. It takes my like 5 minutes manuvering out of my girls drive way and my cougar is not even lowered.

Isn't Great Bear Lodge a family/kids place? Thats the impression I got from the commercials anyways.

Could you picked a place that was anymore expesive! I dont mean to be rude about it but with only having a college expense that really cuts deep into my pocket. I know I could share a room but how many guys vs. chicks are there in neco?

I really cant say anything till this summer.

Yeah I think it is a family type place. They have a indoor water slide and its kinda like geaga lake's kiddie pool area inside.

As for the $$ part. The biggest room is like $330 if we get 8 people in there... the cost would be $41 a person to stay there. I dont think thats too bad. But there has to be like a red roof inn or something around there that can hook us up for a night or something as long as we can book a bunch of rooms.

D@mn people. I got cheap rooms last year and people didn't like the hotel. So now I get expensive rooms that the cost can be divided up by more people so the cost is about the same as last year and I still get complaints, D@mn. Fine we go with the same hotel and I'll ask what room Jay and Cheryl were in with the patio/balcony (view of pool) that connects two rooms. We get those two rooms and party there. We go to Applebees again for dinner. Does that sound ok to everyone. Sheesh.

UPDATE: Well bad news on that one. The hotel just said they will not gaurantee us those two rooms. So if someone wants to make a suggestion go for it.

Ok changed the hotel to Radisson Harbour Inn. It is a Cedar Point hotel so you get the benefit of getting into the park 1/2 hr early and it's on top of Cedar Point. We also would go to TGI Fridays for dinner which is attached to the hotel. The room price is $114 and divided up by 4 people that makes it $28.50 per person. Does that sound better to everyone. All the rooms have a balcony with a very nice view. Hopefully we could get a couple rooms next to each other (no throwing Mountain Dew from balcony to balcony please).

Side Note: I hope you all realize just how nice the rooms at the Bear Lodge were, especially for a big group to party in.

Sounds great, I'll be there, I can't wait! Just one thing though......will it rain?? I don't want to go if it is going rain. If you can guarantee me that it will not rain, then I am so there.

Please note that this was a complaint made in sarcasm. Comon Sare, you should be used to puttin up with us guys and know that we will take care of you (in more ways than one...) and Linkman, its only for a night.....if it were for a month or two, I could understand not wanting to share a room.

Sorry, but I can't stand it when people complain about something without offering a possible solution to their complaint. Especially when peeps complain about something that is totally out of anyones control. Just be glad that Jason is trying to organize events for us cougar enthusiasts so we can get together, talk about our cars and have fun. You can't make everyone happy Jason and never will. I say go with the most expensive hotel in the area, this will keep the not so serious cougar owners away.

Yes, and you could fool me into buying that argument, if I hadn't already met you guys before... ;) One night is more than enough!

Sorry, but I can't stand it when people complain about something without offering a possible solution to their complaint.
Possibly true, but just because I may not know what the correct answer to the question is, doesn't mean that I don't know that the supplied answer is wrong. It all depends on the attitude expressed when the complaint is made.

Especially when peeps complain about something that is totally out of anyones control.
HUH!? Plans for a group meet are out of the group's control? I don't think so.

Just be glad that Jason is trying to organize events for us cougar enthusiasts so we can get together, talk about our cars and have fun. You can't make everyone happy Jason and never will.
I am glad that Jason is trying to organize events. I know what a PiTA "organizing" the Columbus October meet was like. True, you can't make everyone happy, and in this case a compromise was made that made Jason not as happy, oh well. That's the price for being part of a group. We make compromises in our meeting plans so we all can meet.

I say go with the most expensive hotel in the area, this will keep the not so serious cougar owners away.
I really hope you were being facetious or sarcastic there, because as soon as you start measuring how serious I am by how much I spend on a meet, you're going to lose me at meets. That extra $20 or $40 is going to go to my Cougar then, and not your Cougar meet, because I am a serious Cougar owner.

Have a nice day :)

everyone calm down. We have awhile to go before this meet anyway
so lets just stay calm. Plus do you know what today is?

It's Friday! and In three hours I'm pickin up my woman making my way to
Summit Racing and then making my way to the store where we can all be greeted by
a nice case of  calling our names.
It's happy time people---------------->Weekend:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:

:grouphug: :grouphug:

I look at it this way: we are a GROUP and, as a GROUP we should decide with 'majority rules'. Why not vote on it? Put a few other suggestions/options out there (ie: different hotels, schedules, etc) and vote on it. Some people prefer not to share rooms...some do. Some prefer to party...some don't. You aren't going to please everyone, but at least this way, everyone will feel like they have some sort of say in it. Maybe Im wrong..its been known to happen

No, we probably won't be able to attend because the 7th is our 1st wedding anniversary and our new baby will be < than a month old (I will probably have that 'I cant leave my baby with anyone else' syndrome).

However, I will say that when I fork over almost 40 bucks for a ticket x 2 plus parking plus food/drinks/games for a day at Cedar Point, we stay open til close! By the end of the day, I am so exhausted that all I want to do is sleep and if Im gonna just sleep, I'd rather it be as cheap as possible. Bottom line is, we would do what we could afford to and if that meant not staying where everyone else does or not staying anywhere and just driving home, that's they way it would be. But, hey, thats just me :)

Ok I feel I must put another ::Side Note:: in here. The group staying at the hotel WOULD be fun because my family has spent time there and it is a blast. But, if we decide to stay at that hotel then that should be the event. There is so much to do there you could exhaust yourself very easily. If we plan on actually going to Cedar Point it would be pointless, in my oppinion to stay there, because we would not have the time or energy to really enjoy the hotel.

Furthermore and most important. When we say the word "party" I have come to notice that there are MANY different definitions of said word in our little club. I.E. people not wanting to share rooms or even come at all. We have had our good times and we have had our OK times. I definitely think there should be a vote on this as no matter what happens I probably wouldnt even stay at the hotel anyway. I see it as unneeded expense because I can do the exact same things at my own house and not pay a dime. But that is just me. As I have seen that everyone is getting all huffy about something that is 8 and a half months from now makes no sense. It just shows to me that we are all bored and hate this weather and are getting way too excited about stuff that we can't do right now :(.

Anyway that is just my dollar 13 cents. (What was in pocket at the time of writing this)

Kris
