Found the bugger!

i dropped off my car at the dealership and lo and behold, they found two CRACKED PLUGS!
that's why my car was running like shizzle, and kept eating spark plug wires for breakfast.
they're doing a tune up right now, and she should be up running soon...
on a side note, because they will be putting stock plugs back in there, i now have 6 brand new Champion Double Platinum spark plugs for sale ;) i'll sell em cheap :tongue:

In the spring when I clena out my UIM/LIM I'm gonna in spect my plugs. I put in the Bosch Platinum +4's so I'd like ot see how they are doing. Shouldn't bee toob bad. I don't think I have more then 25K's on them, probably less, but one thing your expereince has shown me is that you can never be too meticulous, expically since I run my car on the track.

yeah, she is back to her old self...the last couple of days i've really been pushing her hard, because if there is still is a problem, i want to take it right back to the dealership...and everything seems to be smooth. hopefully she'll stay this way now :)

How the heck did you manage to crack 2 plugs? Were you using your Herculian strength when you were tightening them down or something? :biggrin:

haha...no, i'm pretty sure the plugs just suck. the ford tech i was talking to visibly cringed when i told him i had champion plugs in there. He said for some reason, they just don't seem to work well in ford cars.

The thought of you abusing your Cougar with champions would have made my hair stand on end.....
Never use Champions in Ford's.
