I live in an area where it's pretty unlikely that my car get broken into (knock on wood) but I'd like to have some peace of mind, or at least a deterrent...I'd like to somehow bolt or latch my sub box down, so it doesn't move, and if someone tries to take it they'd have a bit of a difficulty...any ideas?

Try to use a bracket to hold the enclosure amp rack whatever, but mostly use some other type of bolts or screws that ordinary are not available. In other words, you would have to go out of the way in order to buy a special tool to take them out or put them in.

Use long bolts from the inside of sub box that go from inner to outer then through frame of car. The biggest drawback is having to drill holes in box then trunk mat, but its an effective way.

any ideas of how i could do it but still have it easily movable because i ski a fair amount in the winter, nd don't want the box stuck again the back of the seats so i can't move it easily but i alos need it alor more secure than it is now because it moves around when i drive and that is a 2 12 box with the audiobahn amp attatched to the back and it still slides... i just want is secure so it doesn't slam aorund at all anymore

I would personally buy some thick guaged metal black "L"-shaped brackets w/ two holes...put a screw through one hole that'll go into the box, and the other into your trunk's floor. Use at least 2-4 of these around the subwoofer box and she'll be good to go. :)

My latest peice for my trunk to hold the box in place is a 4x8 peice of wood covered in vinyl that holds the box against the back of trunk, all it does is fit perfectly between the back seat and back of trunk. Removeable, light-weight, easy to build. The bolting through the trunk is better suited for more permanent setups.
Old pic, wires look like ****.....anyways, look by the long black casing, thats the peice.
This was in relation to Jorgen's ?.

yeah kelly, i agree w/ assassyn, go w/ the "L" brackets. but use somethin' that isn't very common as your bolt/screw.....somethin' like a hex screw, or torx screw....somethin' other than the ordinary.

Get an alarm with a perimeter sensor. More piece of mind there because it'll protect your whole car. If someone wants that sub they'll get it. You can buy boxes cheap enough elsewhere.
I don't blast my music in my neighborhood. I turn it down or shut it off all together when I get close. I'm currently buying a Viper 550 system off a member and that has a perimeter sensor. Being in Brockton, Mass I'm gonna have it set so sensitive it'll detect the wind blowing.
