I have (as of today) taken 66 lbs off of my car. Today, i took my spare tire, and both back seats out, and my car feels FAST. Has anyone else done weight reduction? If so, did you remove anything i didnt think about?

oh, and i only took out the back seats because they are rediculous, the back seats are REDICULOUS, and none of my friends can fit back there, so im saving the seats in my garage until i decide to sell the car someday, then ill put them back in.

i'm 6'3"......no one fits behind me.....it's nice havin a girl behind me all up on me in the back seat though....that's one advantage.....other than that the spacing in the cougars suck.....i'm just about right up against the back seat......good thinkin.....i might do the same eventually....maybe.....

After i get my next car and the cougar stays a play car.....everything is coming out :)

There was some math equation or something, like every 200-500lbs or something is 0.1 seconds off....i cant remember off hand

I pulled all that stuff including some of the side panals and carpeting out except the spare. I've had a flat already.

I don't know how faster it felt but the car rose up in the back a little. Only problem is noise. You can really hear the road now. I actually put the seat bottoms and the spare tire cover carpeting back on.

Just pulling of the seat backs is major, those things are seriously heavy.

nah....there's a lotta weight reduction you can do...but a lotta it is unsafe for a street driven car....

once upon a time I had only the drivers seat....and front dash in the car...........no outstanding difference in performance......definite audible difference in the cab.....now thanks to dynamat and replacing the factory interior.... very quiet kitty.....all you hear is intake...and exhaust....mostly intake......I still have stock exhaust until The rear bumper is replaced with the extreme.....

the door panels are still in the works so I don't have them in yet ....

How about this guys and girls, put YOURSELF on a diet! Seriously, for those of you who have had the rear seats out (such as mine are at this moment though not for that reason) you know that they dont weigh squat. The spare tire...sorta, like 40 lbs, but damn, I am 6' tall and around 160 and got friends who even if they took the spare out of their cougars MY car still weighs less cuz they are like 100 pounds heavier!. Besides that youre losing weight in the wrong areas anyway IMO. All the weight is up front. Get some to the back if possible (think battery relocate). As for the sound level with interior out...just dont plan on conversations with the opposite sex if you have any aftermarket intake/exhaust

Heh- whoa! Sorry, didnt mean to sound like an ass about losing weight thing- dont take it the wrong way;)

yea i'd agree about the cosmetics... if your actually looking for a light weight car youll be sacrificing alot of safty precautions. CF hood will save you around 25 lbs...take your spoiler off... rear seats.. spare... if you want to be an idiot take your 200lbs impact bumpers off got two of those so youll get a total of 400 out of making your car very very very dangerout :P However i've had my car for 4 years and never hit a thing... so i guess those could have been gone and no one would have noticed ;) (but you wont catch me taking them out!) get dynalite rotors and calipers... take your "dubs" off and put on Summit Racing light weight 15" rims ( look like ass if you ask me). take head lights out... ok we gettin a bit extreme :P ALSO take out the AC... thats a good one.
