LOL, just kidding, but it really is dead in the Ohio forum lately. Everyone must be hibernating. Wake up everyone! What have you been doing lately? Anyone have plans for a meet? Anyone buy new mods for their car? What's going on with everyone?

Uh, I didnt do a damn thing to my car over break, besides take it to the a few body shops to get prices for my fenders, well then I decided to wait til I get my front and do it all at the same time, so around Spring break I ll have my car in the shop getting the front and fenders done. Also gutting the precats, and redoing my sound system. I also am working with Brian for my racing seat install, hes fabbing the brackets then we ll be installing those along with harness's. Hopefully that ll be before spring so I can have everything done before bringing my car to school for a few wks....

Well I just ordered a new tire for my rear passenger side rim. My tire went flat and I take my car out and drive it around the block a couple times just to get the engine warmed up/etc once a week. Well I guess the tire had been flat and I didn't notice due to slow speeds and ice/snow on the roads (I probably just thought the sliding around in the rear was because of the ice/snow). I reinflated it today to find a ring ground out of the sidewall. So I'll be taking my rim in to have a new tire mounted Saturday.
:banghead:
Just as info, anyone with a 215/50/16 tire (16" rims from a 99/00 Cougar), you can only get a BF Goodrich or Firestone tires mounted on your car. No-one else makes an all season tire to fit. Oh well so is life. Cheapest I found for mounting/balancing the tire BF Goodrich was $140. You can get a Firestone for about $40 cheaper, but they are worth anything in the rain/snow.
I also got a couple new toys recently (pics below).

Um he he well :banghead:
What I want to know is why buy a CF hood and then paint it?
Unless you paid 800 to get it clear coated and if that's the case then it must hurt for you to sit down.
But yeah I been boarding with Slade and them and just basically working and playing video games. License returns soon!

My new mod is replacing my EFFING shifter cable. :banghead: My poor car was up on jacks in the garage for NINE DAYS while I waited for the part to arrive, and then for a day off work to actually DO IT!
I merged into moving traffic and tromped on it to get up to speed; missed a shift (or maybe I'd already stripped the cable), and at the next light when I went to go back to first- I HAD NO FIRST! Talk about a sinking feeling- I thought I'd wiped the transmission. But after taking off in 5th and pulling into a Wendy's parking lot, I found out I had 1, 3, and 5. So I limped home on those 3 gears (my wife ranting and raving the whole time), and parked it. The cable sleeve had come loose at the tranny end, so the shifter had no leverage to push the lever into 2, 4, or R.
New cable: $72. Five days delivery time (over Christmas). Five hours of labor, including cutting a hole in the EFFING CARPET!!??? :banghead: I mean, sure it's hidden under the console, but cutting the carpet??!! Ford's service department does it, too. It's the only way. Quality is job 1, huh?
By the way, Jason- this is no help for one tire, but there are a ton of different brands of 215/45/16 tires out there for a lot less than $140. Not exactly all-season, though...
dv6cougar- god speed, man. Hope you make it home soon. It would be great to have you out for a meet in Ohio.
John- my deadline just got extended, so let me know when you'd like to do the precat thing. Spring break, maybe?

Ive been waiting on shops to fix my suspension right. I plan on driving up to columbus to get coilovers installed then again for the precat mod meet. Ive got some other new stuff to put on as soon as I get my tax return and get the stuff in and some things painted.

Hey littleB hang in there, and just think this won't be the only time that little bugger will make you sick!
$140 for one! I got a screamin deal then when I got 4 BFG @ $400 OTD! Just shop around and have them price match, probably easier to do when you need all 4.

Lets just say that the Mods are a plenty. Still doing homework on a bunch of em. Thats all I am going to say...
Brian
I paid $98 each for my goodriches...and I dont care what anyone says, my firestones were waaaaay better in the wet through the first half the treadlife. Bout the same in snow I think, and dry too. Oh well, I hate them both so who knows. Just dont pay $140...That's messed up. even if you have to pay for a mount and balance (...maybe $20 total) its still cheaper to go with tire rack!
Oh yeah, well, pending parts arriving I'm installing my Roush rear sway bar on Saturday, possibly dropping the exhaust soon also- whenever I get a few bucks for new gasket and bolts. Gonna clean it up and repaint. Then I need to get the stereo back in and maybe the rear seats too- my hatch area is simply cavernous now...but good for the snowboard which has gotten a fair amount of work lately. Other than that there are some things planned for Cougarfest but that is gonna be kept silent for now.

Aerogear Pred hood is around 700 dollars and then clearcoating it. I am not understanding why you think price is so horrid.

Wow, everyone is still alive! hehehe. Sorry about the little joke, just thought that would get everyone's attention.
With the tires, I can get them for just a tad less than the tire places, but it's only like $2 cheaper. You have to remember you always get a deal when buying 4 tires and I'm just buying one. But thanks for the info guys. Also on the different tires you can buy, yea you can get all kinds of different brands if you don't want an all season, but even at tire rack they only have the BF and Firestone for an all season tire that fits our car that's at least V rated.
Bennett9000: I swear you hang out in the problems forum. Anytime I go there you seem to have posted on at least one issue.
I have a couple meets planned starting next month so keep yours eyes on the events page of our website. I'm working on Mini-Fest II already with a much better hotel in the works and a better time schedule worked out from lessons learned last year.

It's because I have so many.
I've become an authority.

I am looking for Yokahma's. Mine dont look bad now but I am planning on making my current ones winter and get some new ones good weather. also lookin' for rims. Mine look all blech! especially after the body shops attempt to clean them off on Friday. Driver side is shinny but passenger side is discolored. :disgust:
Other than getting my car fixed for the 2nd time, nothing eventful has happened. School starts tonight
:-/ Well off to work. Latta

800 for the hood and the clear coating is acceptable. From the way you put it it sounded as if you already bought the hood and paid 800 more for the hood to get painted.
John no doubt we will come visit. if not just for the fact to make sure you stay alive and go to class and graduate.
