Does anyone have any experience with the SVT 60 mm Throttle body? i emailed the guys at fordpartsonline.com and they said i need to buy the cable, bracket, gasket and throttle body. Does anyone have any feedback on this? (eg. better horsepower? )

Many people here have done SVT stuff to their engines, from just a few parts to complete engine swaps. To save you from the barage of responses that are sure to follow since you are a newbie, use the search feature and check SVT, TB, UIM, LIM, and combinations thereof. In short, though...you're probably thinking the upgraded TB will instantly yield you HP gains as it might on other engines. However, if you add just the TB without doing the SVT upper intake manifold at the same time (if I remember correctly) you will basically just be bottle-necking the flow of air into your engine. These boards are an incredible asset when doing modifications, so if you have any other questions that you can't find an answer to with the search feature, ask away and you will surely get many good responses back. Have you been to CustomCougars (http://www.customcougars.com) yet? The owner of that site is a member here and has been serving our community for quite a while now. I encourage you to go and have a look around. He sells the SVT Contour UIM/TB kit including all the parts you'd need to do the modification, but unless you've already done them, I would (as would most everybody else) strongly suggest starting with an intake and exhaust before moving to the SVT parts... Best of luck, welcome to NECO, and happy modding!

The only other info you might be interested in is the actuall benefit of just replacing your stock Throttle Body with the SVT Throttle Body.

If just switching throttle bodys the only benefit is better throttle response (no horsepower gain because of the reason stated by ArizonaCougar). The better throttle response is due to the single spring action of the SVT throttle body over the double spring action of the stock throttle body. In laymens terms your car's engine will respond quicker to the throttle (gas) pedal movements.

Again to reiterate what ArizonaCougar stated, to see an increase in HP with the SVT throttle body you will also need the SVT Upper Intake Manifold (UIM) and a more free flowing intake filter system. A more free flowing exhaust would also be recomended (you need to increase air flowing out of the engine to see the benefit of more air flowing into the engine).

Okay...Here's the situation...I already have the Borla Cat-Back Dual Exhaust and K & N Air Charger Kit installed on my Manual transmission 2.5L V6 Duratec 1999 Cougar. So now what would the throttle body do for me knowing of these upgrades I already have.

Just do the SVT upper intake manifold and svt tb at the same time. Since you have a 99 you may need the SVT sized lower intake manifold.

Here are part numbers. I got my SVT UIM from BAT a few months ago for ~$300 and the TB and parts from fordpartsonline for ~$160

Parts I got from FPO, I also got a MTX cruise cable because the ATX cruise cable is not long enough:

UIM to LIM gaskets - F5RZ-9H486-B
SVT TB - F7RZ-9E926-AA
SVT TB Gasket - YS8Z-9E936-AA
SVT TB Bracket - FR8Z-9677-AA
IAC Gasket - E83Z-9F670-A
EGR Gasket - E6AZ-9D476-B

Other:

SVT UIM - 1S8Z-9424-AA
SVT LIM (needed if your car is built before 5/99) - F7RZ-9U531-AA
see above LIM to Head gaskets - F5RZ-9439-B

what site did you get the UIM from?

the SVT/ST200 UIM can be obtained from the following sites...
www.batinc.net (http://www.batinc.net)
www.customcougars.com (http://www.customcougars.com)

your best bet it to find on on ebay...an SVT UIM usually can be seen on there once or twice a month.
