I know Bennet and I are going to be doing my Cats eventually, but I m going back to school, and I know he has deadlines, but maybe we all could do this stuff together, the only thing is my car doesnt go outside in the snow, salt etc. so A)wait til its gone and nice out, or B)use my house, heated 4 car garage to do it. As most of you know my parents are happy to have everyone over so thats a nice little get together again I m sure, just has to be a weekend I can get off from school.

what kind of tools do you have? I know will need a spring compressor and a few other goodies. Are you using different struts or your stock struts... that I think is the most important question.

If you are using different struts then get those perches cut off of them before you do the install. Basically you want to cut of everthing but leave like 1/2 " above where the perches are welded on to the strut. I used a plasma cutter... it was nice.... I guess a hacksaw would work too but it would take a while. If you are using your stock struts... then its going to be a big project becasue we can only take one off at a time and do the whole deal then put it back on and then start over again.

Yah, me and Madcat are planning a pre-cat party SOON. probably not this week, but definitely in the spring, if not sooner. I have a January deadline for a project, so starting in Feb. we'll begin taking names. We should just do it as a meet, like a mod meet, somewhere a little more centrally located (Mansfield, John?) :naughty:

im going to get new struts if I can find some of the ST200 ones anywhere, otherwise I cant afford them. I might also be able to make the precat mod meet but im not sure yet. I dont have a spring compressor but I can borrow one from my friend or autozone.

Yes my house is always open, not really centrally located though, but I mean heated garage etc... is all a plus. So just tell me when if I m done with Rush and Pledging then I m game!

the deal is $189 for a a set of 4 they are pretty up to date with their stuff... I have these struts with my coil-overs they are good.. and its a sweet deal anyways.

You may need a 3 jaw puller to get the rotors off also- depends greatly on how long theyve been on and what condition they are in. You can rent both that and the spring compressors at autozone for free. Also, while youre at it get a tie rod tool- Forget the exact name. I bought one after spending 2 hours trying to get mine loose on one side. Sometimes they pop right up and sometimes they are a pain so save everyone the potential PITA and get it. I have one but prolly wont be able to make it. If John is gonna be there I'll let him borrow it but, (an no offence to anyone here) I dont trust members farther than I can throw them anymore;) Too many bad stories. Besides, its free to rent the tool and would be sorta costly to ship it back and forth. Good luck.

Boy I dont remember any of that crap... my rotors stayed on... and when me and sttich did we didnt even have a spring compressor!

Although I would suggest using a spring compressor he he cause stuff goes flying if you dont. Some WD-40 and a torque wrench is all we had.

so whats the word? Did you still feel like undertaking this project? I would think waiting untill its not 17 degrees outside would be a good idea.

Im hoping to be able to do it in late February or early March.
