This will be the last year my cougar is seeing winter. She will be garage kept and driven to events now. Still a major work in progress. So yeah, mine's a keeper.

So, Cougar Meet at Kristy's house in the middle of the summer to celebrate her new Cougar?! Sounds good to me, I'll be there!

On the where is everyone note... I have a feeling its going to slow way down for Winter... no one has said anything about the Whirleyball meet in two weeks... if no one says they are going, I'll have to cancel the meet, and may put off the next meet until the Drag meets in April.

And the event that prompted Heather to post this is that Mike (Izzy) sold his cougar this weekend. Its always sad to see another Cougar go... but he'll probably still be at meets. :)

We do have new members getting involved though... Zip seems to be really interested (Welcome Ryan), and Aries came to the last meet and seemed really interested. Kristy's getting a new cougar, and I'm sure there will be more. I still hand out business cards to everyone I see. I do, however, need to get on AIM more often at nights and start to get to know some of the new, new members that have signed up on the site and I never hear from again.

And we still have members that work on their cars, a lot. Cru, Tad, Kyle (Bleedblue81), and Jenny have awesome cars and are active in the club. The difference is that last year or so the concentration was in Chicago... with Amber, and Jay (both now gone), but everything seems to have moved south more... so maybe I should start having the meets more toward central IL...

(* please forgive me if I forgot your name in the awesome car list... everyone has awesome cars)

central IL? whoa... i get to see more of illinois :)

don't forget, catnip9, crispy and Ov3n(although 2 are Wis. Neco members) will probably come to meets too!

AND i'll be there as soon as I am back as well!

Yeah I just need to readjust my time and priorities. I know I have been saying this a lot but I kinda miss some of the meets i went to and would love to go. Maybe now that I have been forced to give up paintball for about a year, I will have more free time. We shall see. I wouldn't mind being up for the meet in Janurary but not for Whirley ball. Just can't afford it right now. I spent way too much after cougarfest 2k2 with getting my car worked on. If ou want to see pics, feel free to email me. I will send ya the link (can't be posted per my sponsor until the interior is finished)

wow you might want to re think haveing an event at my house yes i have the room and everything but it would be a safe bet that anyone with their cougar lowered or having a body kit may not think highly of the drive there since its out in the country and all since you know how bad the high ways are in IL just imagine how bad the back roads are but we shall see and yes I would love to make it to more meets and central IL sounds really nice but i wouldnt have a problem driving up north its just with school right now and work im kinda stuck but school is almost out and i should be getting a new job so things should change for me I just hope to see some of you when it gets nicer out

Yeah but we may not have Cru's around for long if he gets that Supra....bigger meets more centralized is always music to our ears down here...gets Gateway out more too :)

And, you still have Jenny up north with lots of mods....you just have to keep her on the road and out of the body shop long enough to make a meet :cover: j/k ;)

I am actually hoping to get my mods done by May. Have to see how the expenses play out from now until then. I might actually be heading out to Missouri for an AO (paintball meet for automag owners) meet next month. I will make an announcement if I can go.

Phantom

I forgot Cru was considering a Supra.

I don't really have anything against Toyota... maybe Honda... but the Supra and even the Celica are pretty nice cars.

So... now that everyone is talking on here again... who's going to the Whirlyball meet? Who wants to go to the Autoshow in Feb? And who wants to hit the drag strips in April?

dv6cougar
01-09-2003, 07:23 PM

I'm for going to everything I possibly can :) Still being in High School and all it probably will be hard to make it to some of the things, but I'll do it ;) Hmm, IL NECO from what I've seen is dotted across IL now, and here I am stuck up north :'(

As for a drag meet and such, whoa, sounds fun, but seeing as how my car is a V6 Automatic, plus with ground effects and such being added soon, I'll be lucky to hit a low 16 ;)

drag meet at gurnee mills:beer: hehe...heard about u guys having a meet there not long ago(hope u guys raced in the huge lots:))...its sad i joined NECO like 2 days afterwards but hey **** happens

and about the toyota thing...ill gladdly take a honda over a toyota...why? for one major reason: the average age of a new owner is up near the 50 or 60 mark i beleive..yikes! main reason why they are comin' out with a new division called Scion:disgust:

parking lot isn't big enough for that

if i ever get home... ........ ....... i'll show you all where we all have the races at night though... i live 5 minutes from there ;)

the taco bell and mc donalds in the parking lot, is where all the cars meet up. then we go behind the holiday to an industrail park and race... there's a few other places we go within a 15 minute range :)

Kristy

Well I was planning on throwing an IL NECO party when Cru got back but because I sold my house it just didnt happen. I would me more than happy to have people stay at the new place. Central IL just isn't the same without the clan stopping by every now and then!
