My younger brother Chuck who works for Rich Morton Lincoln mercury was hit head on on Saturday night while going for fast food for his kids. It took over an hour to cut him out of his mercury sable. The driver was young and drinking is all we've heard so far. He's in shock trauma still in serious condition with a broken foot, all his toes broke, arm and shoulder broke with metal rods inserted, spleen removed, they stopped his internal bleeding but when they took him out of surgery yesterday his lungs both collasped. Please remember him in your prayers guys, he sure has a long hard road ahead of him for sure. Thanks Karen

I am so sorry to hear that, I will keep him in my prayers. The good thing is that he is in the best place that he can be now. Baltimore shock trauma, is by far one of the leading shock trauma units in the world. I hope he has a swift recovery.

I just got off the phone with my sister and she said they are still unable to take him off the respirator at this time and he is still listed as critical. He is awake and wrote down on a piece of paper that he needed more pain medication that the pain was incredible. The drunk driver that crossed the double yellow line was released the next day! Funny how that always seems to work that way doesn't it? My sister-in-law has already contacted an attorney. Bad thing is he could be out of work for well over a year and he only get's half his usual pay! Tell me that doesn't suck! He has three small kids to support and a mortgage. Doesn't seem very fair does it? Hell the lawsuit could take years to settle.
Thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers you guys, this is really tough for me, my dad is dying at the moment from throat and lung cancer, he just had a tracheotomy and a feeding tube put in last week just to be able to breath until he passes and now this! He's so weak he can't even go visit him, Chuck was defiantly my dads favorite too.

More bad news this afternoon. The nurse discovered his stomach badly swollen this afternoon and upon checking things out they discovered he's still bleeding out through his stomach internally, they are going to have to take him in and do exploratory surgery to try and find the bleeding and hopefully stop it. He was definatly wearing his seatbelt and the airbag deployed too, which in some cases I understand can cause lots of damage to the internal organs as well.

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad also and the further complications with Chuck and still have them in my prayers... I had two (brother & sister) friends die from a drunk driver hitting them head on as they were on their way to OC around 3am...it did take a couple years to win the settlement and the guy I think may have served 1 year in jail..It was 7 1/2 years ago so I don't remember how short his jail time was...but I do remember the outrage that he didn't get manslaughter or whatever it's called...I wish your brother & family better luck with making this kid get we he deserves.

Still bad news for my brother. Sunday afternoon the doctors told my sister in law things weren't looking very good. Seems he had experienced a bleed to his brain that has swelled up pretty badly, he now can't regain conciseness and when he does come in and out of he he knows no one. he has contracted pneumonia in both lungs as well. Still in need of lots of prayers guys! Thanks for your support! I did find out that the drunk who hit him was doing 65mph in a 35mph zone.
Good Luck Karen. Do they they have the guy that hit him in custody?

They didn't take him into custody because he also spent the night in the hospital, but he did walk out the next morning. He was charged with reckless driving while intoxicated and numerous other charges my sister in law said. I'm going in to see him this afternoon, he won't be awake and my sister in law aked me to wait until he awoke but damn I'm not sitting around listening to her anymore, what if something happened to him and I never went to see him.
