Well yesterday i installed my Weapon-R cold air intake kit thingy. Only issues i came by was a missing rubber gromit for the IAT (fixed quickly and courtiously by weapon-r's staff), and a bit of bad fitment of the airbox. I assumed (given the amount of screws that came with the box) that the fusebox screw that was already there is to be used to bolt the beast down. Prob is this... didn't line up, i had my fender in the way. I dont care to much, i just fashioned some ghetto-fab duct taping in there, No rattles or anything... (only had it for 100 miles so far... ill keep yeall posted). Im going to, once i take a trip to home depot to bust out some metal screws and just screw into my wheel well.
I didn't have a CTA intake, so im not sure what that one sounded like. but this one sounds awesome. one of my friends said "wow, it sounds like you have a bigger engine." After beating him for a minute i agreed that you can hear the valvetrain alot better. ALSO if you open your windows on the freeway or anyplace really under WOT you can hear it sucking hard. We got little beasts ;) my 4banger is louder than my friends' 2001 v6 mustang :O
The cold air box increases the whistle sound btw. I did tests and it recieved 10hp at the wheel increase over stock intake. Rather standard results from intakes on really any car. Haven't run 1/4 or even a 0-60 test, but as always ill keep yeall posted.

What is the small hose attached to the intake in your picture? (not the crank case vent hose) the hole is on my intake too, but the instructions dont say anything about it, and i had no inkling of what it might be.

Does the cold airbox have a hose that draws air from outside the engine compartment or is it just open on the side (by the fender)? It kind looks like a box that just covers the airfilter.
If it draws air from within the engine compartment, then I would think that the ambient air temp of the aircharge would be pretty much the same as without the box. Either way, the set up looks pretty sweet...........
By the way.........the CTA sounds really nice too.

Im getting the IAT mixed up with the MAF, or are they the same thing? because i thought the MAF was supposed to be right before the filter, so i am confused as to how i should use that hole.

That looks pretty snazzy, i like the piping.
It's kinda neat to see all the different routes companies take to direct the airflow.
Can someone post a CTA intake photo for me please in this thread as a reference??

does it rub like the CTA on the hood? cuz i just ordered my CF preditor hood and if it doesn't, I will need to order this intake so i don't burn it like my stock hood. How much clearance do u have? is that better? damn i didn't know this was english class!

Anybody have the price for the weapon r ? Is the box alone 130$ or is the pipe and the box 130$ I know how weapon R can be with all the ram air/cold air attachments. Everything they sell is seperately priced. Just curious because the website says $330 for the cold air system. Is the system that he just installed concidered the cold air system?
