At last I can start modding I have added a high brake light mod which light up with 'COUGAR' which is a bit smart and a G-Box performance chip which I will fit at the weekend (10-20 bhp supposibly).

Hopefully new front grill will arrive tomorrow, Cougar badges from USA still not appeared and front and bad light covers and K&N filter will start the long sail from the USA on the 12th Jan (hopefully!)

Pictures soon

if anyone doesn't want their Ford badges because they are switching to the cougar ones from the States, I would be willing to buy them from you if you want. Just a thought as I am in the States.

I fitted the G box chip this afternoon and I have drove for about 5 miles.

The throttle response seems better and the hesitation at about 3K revs seems the have reduced significantly, +4K
when the V6 really gets going seems better too ( so much so that when I floored it with the missus in the car she grabbed hold of the sides of he seat and said 'bloody hell!' I would say it is probably worth 10 - 15hp.

I paid between $30 - $40 shipping is about $6 so it is well worth it.

The hasn't been any nasty side effects and I am not expecting any as I assume that it fools the IAF sensor into running the car at max fuel/air mixture so the Ford handicapping the engine for emmisions purposes is overwrote this is born
out by the statement on the web site that your fuel economy will reduce by a couple of miles a gallon.

This is not the old resistor onto the IAF sensor plug trick as I believe this doesn't work if the outside temprature is low, and it was about 2C (from the cougar computer) when I was testing it.

Contact IcECo1D@aol.com for more info, apparently this is a very new product.

Also ST200 badges arrived today but it is far too cold to fit them ;)

How trickey and what was involved in installing the G-Box?

Disconnect battery -ive

There is a sensor in the air intake, cut the two wires brown& white and purple& white.

The chip is a box with two wires in and two wires (black and red)

solder black leads to brown and white
solder red leads to purple & white

Reconnect battery -ive

Drive car flooring accellerate whenever you are able and manically giggling ;)

P.S. can't wait for the stage 2 chip but they are talking about some cars may need higher octane fuel

hi bazza
just read about the gmax chip. have you had any problems with it since fitting?

Still no problems everything working great, actually seems even faster.

I'd recommend 225 tyres though after fitting the chip ;)
