In the cougar :wiggle:
Yeah...coming home from my new years today, it was rainy really hard, parkway was drenched, I came around a bend down by Ocean City, lost control of the front wheels and the car just went off road. I was doing 50-55 down the parkway at the time and just kinda went off
Kinda cool to sit there and watch your car coast through mud and everything, very surreal...slow motion
No damage, just more dirt (as if there wasnt enough) and a ticket for careless driving
So in summary, no damage, no accident, no need for tow-truck, just a state trooper who came after i pushed my car up the hill saying "anytime you leave a state highway it's considered careless driving, here have a ticket"
Yeah....definitely fighting that one :)

It's bad enough you went into the weeds in today's bad weather, but to for the trooper to give you a ticket really sucks:puke: That trooper must have psychic abilities to know if you were driving too fast, or is all your fault for your going off the road. I assume your car has tires in good condition, and if they were bad, could see a ticket then. Well, glad to hear you weren't hurt and the car not apparently damaged. I would have your car checked out by a garage to make sure there wasn't any damage to the suspension. Fight that unfair ticket:mad:

That sucks...as long as everything is cool...
Make sure the alignment is ok, and there isn't any excess mud built up in any moving parts.
Besides that...a Careless Driving ticket is a 0-2 pt ticket, and is like $75...does not require a court date, and is often given by officers who need to make their monthly quota of tickets, and couldn't think of anything else to give you.
Sorry that happened, but all is well...A great way to start the new year...
Hey look its that dancing banana again----->
I love that banana...he's sooooo much better than AXIO :poke::rolleyes:

definitely fight that! How can he give you a ticket? He didn't see the incident. He just assumed it was your fault and that you were doing something stupid. take it to court!

Well....im pleading not guilty, thats not a question :)
Car is fine. When i got her home i washed the underside with a hose, and brought her inside and put her up on jackstands....didnt seem like anything was outta whack, but im gonna drive her tomorrow and see if anything is wrong or feels off...if there is, i'll be sure to get it checked out.
The cop was honestly very cool about it all and told me to tell the prosecutor that he said to plead not guilty, and i think it's a small fee/fine for a lesser charge. It's all abot the money it seems...
Front tires are a little old, but still very good, reaers are perfect:)
That is one question I had was how an officer can ticket you for an offense such as reckless driving, but not actually see what happened. He didnt even see where my car was, it was already up outta the weeds and onto the shoulder. I was paying the tow truck guy when he pulled up.....ah well....lesson learned. Drive no more then 50mph in torrential downpours:)
learn to drive. You deserved the ticket you careless jerk :disgust:

Ok...for those of y'all who dont check problems.
I took my car out today and did some driving in different conditions to see what ws wrnog if anything and this is all i got.
Acceleration is fine, hard, light, and normal - perfectly normal
Braking is normal, no shaking what-so-ever.
Bumpy roads, felt normal, cornering was normal
Here's the only issue i found. From 0-60mph the car drives great, smooth as ever. 61-64 the car starts to shake a little bit. From 65-75mph the car is shaking quite a bit.
I've been hearing wheel balancing, but outside that...anyone else got opinions???

I would have to go with Wheel Balancing..we learned that in Auto class today..if the steering wheel shakes it is your front wheels..if the whole car gets shaking it is the rear wheels...see i guess there is some meaning to school

Yeah, you could've kicked a weight. I've done that a few times. Try this, rotate the tires, if the shimmy is gone, rebalance the wheels. If not, it could be a bearing that got cooked, a tie rod could be bent or something else suspension related.

Ethan.. like I said.. if your weights are still there.. or even if they aren't.. take off the wheels and give a good cleaning.. damn good chance you just have a heavy ass load of mud..
