i'm gettin speakers installed as we speak...i bought JBL..and pioneer (cause of the ****ed size)..and the dude just called me and said they sold me the wrong ones...the jbl ones wouldn't work..sooooo..he has to put pioneer all over...now...
is pioneer a decent speaker?..i mean..what's the top of the line for our car, and it's 5x7 size??
help...hurry
You can fit 6x8's in stock spot. Pioneer are good speakers, depending on the number. Pioneer makes 2 or 3 different 5x7's, Kenwood makes a 6x8 in the Excelon, and I believe Polk makes a 6x8.

I've got no experience with Pioneer, but your best be would be to go to Crutchfield (http://www.crutchfield.com)and do a product comparison.

you might wanna edit your question there dude to the wonderful F-Bomb you dropped... but other than that the Pinoneer 3-ways are decent... the 5x7/6x8's fit FORD vehicles perfectly... with decent subs in your ride it won't really made a HUGE difference on what you install..
blast

Depending on the model number pioneer are decent, besides they will crossed over right? :biggrin:if they are on a crossover you can always change the frequency to your liking.

I ordered 2 sets of Clarion SRC-5794
got one set yesterday and put them in the doors. sounds good but not sure if I want the other set, no bass at all. They are plate speakers. 5" mid and 1" tweet. I have a 10" Alpine r series sub in the trunk but for some reason the amp quit working again (sigh)
Once I get it working again I'll have to see how the fronts and sub work. Right now with the clarion fronts and stock rears it sounds pretty decent. the stocks aren't as clean though

I have earthquake 5x7 and they are killer. They sound great on lp or hp. I run them off of a 500w eclipse 4 channel and they will hurt you'r ears. But jst get what you can afford.. If you are going for SQ you will need to spend a few hunderd. For for around town. anything from best buy will work

Kenwood makes a 6x8 in the Excelon
I have Kenwood 6x8 3-way speakers and their not excelon...they're not the greatest but they sound better than stock and they're not too expensive.

My MB Quarts take a beating and still screaming. 130 for a pair isnt bad at all for one of the better brands. Pioneer is ok , but they dont put out as much highs as any other, even amped and x-over. BUT thats MY opinion.
Word to the F-Bomb....
