Texas,
I managed to mess my oil pan up yesterday (I think). Anyone here done any work on this before? Click the link above, there is a longer explanation. Thanks in advance.

Dane, I've never done any work to the oil pan but you know I'd totally be down for it. May as well gut the cats whilst were under there.

yeah no kidding.
I'm getting a couple calls into some shops just to get ballpark of what they would charge to see if its worth trying myself. luckily i've got a friend in town who also knows about cars, so we'll see.
i'll let you know if i'm gonna try it myself. thanks Greg

Come to think of it, why don't us austin guys get together soon? Nothing big, maybe gut our cats or something? Then again, its winter and metal is cold when you touch it, so maybe we'll do that when it warms up. anyway:smoke-g:

I have never done it but it shouldn't be all that hard to do. I would recommend getting the Bat oil pan while your at it.
$600.00 is a lot of money for something that shouldn't be to difficult.

I just looked at the ford CD and all you need to do is remove the y-pipe(which I've done), then undo a couple bolts, then there are like 24 bolts holding the pan up. I REALL think we could do this. Also I can get the new 2002 oil pan with the updated baffle from work. I check price and get back.

I went ahead and got a shop to do it. We used one of the manuals here and checked prices, I got a quote to do it for $230, I figured parts alone would cost me around $150 EASY, so I'd rather spend a few more dollars to get it checked out and make sure I didn't screw anything else up. They had it back to me the next day and everything seems to be running fine now. I can't believe I didn't tear my exhaust off.
