One day i looked at my headlight and had a crazy idea... what if i took apart my headlight and installed the projector assembly from the factory foglights in the space where our turn signals are now? (imagine dual low beams)
any thoughts?

hmm, it may work? Prolly have to run some more wires.
This would look pretty odd when turning prolly..

The fog light would only need about 2ft of wire from stock location and it would work like regular driving light. Not a blinker, unless you would to use the factory blinker wires.
Actually is was done in my headlights for like 20 minutes, I didnt like the other drivers high beaming me every second, they were not easily adjustable in the housing due to the lack of space behind fog housing. A little more work and it could be perfected, but I also had a cheap set and changing the bulb wouldnt be too fun.
Although busting out the entire factory reflector would fix all the problems...better leave that to the next guy to try.

i know its pretty much a useless mod..but i was just curious. and i thought it might be neat to be able to run all 3 slots with xenon blubs. and maybe having the fogs in that postion would give a lil more light but i doubt it would be any differnet than fogs in stock location.
yeah.....so did you get that intake done yet or what??!??

That would be pretty cool...I'd prolly just get hyper white bulbs, and have the same basic principal......it would be a lot easier......

The new Mazda6's have "intergrated foglamps". Basically they put the fogs up where the headlights are in the same housing. Which, to me is stupid because the premise behind a foglight is to be low to the ground so it shoots below the fog...

it's also supposed to be towards the center of the car, however now adays more and more manufcaturers move them to the corners of the car, away from the center....
fog lights really don't work anymore like they were supposed to 15 years ago, when they were yellow, large and in the lower center of the front grille.....

I remember those amber fog's. Damn things would blind anyone and still be legal. I think I still have a set somewhere, I think 100 watt and at lest a 4in diameter.

The unreleased 2004 Nissan Maximas have this design. The foglamps are part of the headlight assembly. In the place of where the fog lamp would normally sit there is a corner lamp that is only activated when the turn signal is on. Sounds like a fun mod to me.
