How many miles do you have on your zetec?

I have 52k and im thinking about having the timing belt replaced soon. I was reading that on the 99+ 2.0 liter dohc zetec contained in the countour, cougar, escort, zx2, focus and mystique that the timing belt should be inspected every 120k miles and replaced as required.

Does this really sound correct to you guys? I'd hate to put off having mine changed and then it breaks and my valves smack the piston and causes engine damage.

Are stock timing belts pretty tough?

Anyway, here's the sight:

Also let me know your milage and if your timing belt has every broken. Be sure to give me the milage that the timing belt failed at too. Thanks!

I'm sitting at 103k on mine and I haven't had any problems. Although I did replace the timing belt at 95k the dealer only noticed some wear on the idler and tensioner pulleys. Other than that the belt seems to just keep going. But if you do replace the timing replace the serpatine belt too, saves time and money than doing them seperatly.
