A merry xmas to all my fellow Cougar devotees's.

Did santa bring you anything nice for your cat? Somehow, I don't think an Iron Maiden video would look quite right on mine.

Ok then, can anyone recommend a good exhaust place close to Newcastle? I'm looking to get a stainless exhaust fabricated for my cat. There is a powerflow dealer in Newcastle but you cannot beat getting advice from you guys who could recommend a place to go to. Any ideas on price?

Are the off the shelf stainless systems any good? I've found that amongst others, Janspeed and Mongoose do make systems for our cars.

Thanks

Well, it's not really near Newcastle so it might not be of use to you, but others might find it useful. There's a company called LongLife Exhausts (http://www.exhausts.uk.com/home.cfm) who come highly recommended from a fair few MX6 and Xedos 6 owners. Nearest to you is Sheffield which is a fair step. Might be worth a chat with them though. They also have branches at Cardiff, Bristol and Croydon. They specialise in one off jobs, and the systems they build are guaranteed for the life of the car.
They will build to your specification. Friend of mine had a system built and fitted to a Xedos for £375, which is pretty reasonable.

Yep i agree with Deadlock, Longlife in Sheffield come highly recommended. I would stay away from Mongoose as the quality is not that good and yes i know i have Mongoose back boxes on my Cougar but they are going to be changed as they look like they are 10 years old already!!!

Thanks for the advice guys, I think I'll contact Longlife tomorrow, I don't mind travelling a bit if I know I'm going to get a good quality job off them. I've got a Powerflow dealer close to me in Newcastle but he doesn't seem very confident about how the exhaust may sound.

I was considering buying maybe a Janspeed exhaust but there is very little info available. What I don't want is ugly silencers sitting behind each tailpipe, I really do prefer the clean look.
