Hello to all.

I know it has been forever since I have posted. After too long of being upside down on car payments (I owed $9,500 for a car worth about $4,000) I finally let my Cougar take it's final rest. Today my wife and I purchased a 2002 Ford Focus ZX3 (power package).

Thanks to everyone who has been so helpful with my Cougar. I still plan on lurking a bit around the boards even though I no longer have my kitty.

I wish everyone happy holidays!

serg, in your quote threre is says "...and that he did.

shouldn't it say, "and THEN he did"??

Actually, grammaticaly saying "and that he did" would be correct. It's doing sort of a Yoda type thing on the phrase "And he did that."

Another Cougar owner lost to the Focus.

Sorry to hear it. But I got a question: How can you call anything about the focus a 'Power Package'? :cover:

The focus actually has quite a bit of get-up-and-go. It's the I4 Zetec to which there is a whole forum dedicated to its performance. The key factors for ditching my cougar were the fact that it was a blackhole of repair funds. I have had too many problems with that car @ 90,000 miles for a 1999. Also, we were upside down on the payments by over $4,000.

Also, I enjoy the fact that the Focus can be modded so easily and that it is still in production, unlike the Cougar. I loved driving my kitty, and I loved going to meets with everyone in SoCal. I plan to mod the heck out of my new car and then try to make it to a few meets with you guys if that would be alright. I had my Cougar for nearly 3 years...so it was time to move on.

Well, even though I knew this day was coming, it's still sad to see a NECO member sell or trade-in there Cougar. Hope to see ya around Ariston and your ZX3.

Power upgrades include turbo charging :)

I plan to get the following:

MAC "Shorty" Intake
Magnaflow Cat-Back Exhuast (with tip)

Those two alone will help out tremendously with the power. After that it's getting the Scorpion body kit, then the audio system, then the rims... :)

Lots to save up for...

I plan on chatting with the wife about joining everyone on the 28th...
