Trying to connect the power and ground wire. I have 4 AWG. The damn terminal holes are to small. The instructions recommend 4-8` AWG. so why don't they make the terminals big enough. anyone have any ideas???

you can buy banana clips for the 4awg then slide the clip into the spot and secure it.

Thanks, I'll check into that. for now I just used a knife and shaved it down enough to fit. After another snafu with the swtiched wire somehow grounding out and blowing a fuse under the hood I have it running.
Problem I have now is I can only hear it if I have my head next to it. where the hell is the booming bass??? I have the head unit all the way to 15 for the sub. I haven't figured out the settingsd on the amp but figured the settings were just for fine tunning
btw I have a Alpine type R 10" with the above mentioned amp....

tell me if your amp is a single voice coil or dual voice coil....I'm assuming single in this case...also is the sub 2 or 4 ohms? then tell me what the power rating is on your amp...then we can go from there and see what your problem is...I'm not to sure of your electrical knowledge but I'm assuming you know how to bridge a sub to a amp???

not sure on all the questions your asking but the answers probably would be on Alpines website. I'll try to answer them though.
not sure on the coils. the amp is 300w rms 1000 max, 2 ohm, single channel
the sub is a 4x4 ohm, 300w rms. I asked about the sub being 4 ohm but the guy said theres instructions on how to hook it up to a 2 ohm aMP. I did that but I can check my connections again
This is my first amp/sub so no I don't know how to bridge, but i can follow instructions :)
btw, why is there diferent ohm ratings?? does different ones do different things??
Thanks
