Just want to say Merry Christmas to all my fellow Mass/Conn members. Looks like we're gonna have a White Christmas. If so, please stay safe out there. Remember to clean up the area surrounding your tree, and if you have a real tree to keep it watered. I, as well as my fellow firefighters really don't want to work for the holiday if you know what I mean. You'd be suprised how fast a Christmas tree can ignite an uncontrollable fire. So keep the area clear. And if you're partying, do it responsibly. Sleep at Sassy's house! I'll get off my soap box now. Hi everyone! Just wanted to say I hope you all had a great Christmas. Mine started fine, but turned to crap in a hurry. Went to NH to be with the family- got presents, had dinner...all good. Then it was time to drive back - since I have to work in the morning for the big return day, I drove back Christmas night in the snow....no problem, it's New England - it snows - take it slow, drive carefully, no problem... before too long, I developed a MAJOR vibration...no problem, just snow in the wheels, throwing them out of balance (I hope), kept driving - stopped at the Hooksett rest area to clean the wipers, etc - there was a good amount of snow in the wheels & packed in the wheel wells, so I cleaned out what I could and continued....still intermittently vibrated. Made it down RT 3 & on to 495 when a few exits down, I hit a major $#&*! pot hole in a bridge - instantly the car starts pulling to the right and I can hear that lovely flat tire sound - I slowly continued on about a mile to a rest area, rather than stopping on the highway with the condition the roads were in. I get out and look...and as I figured a big ol' hole in the thing...not wanting to change it myself if I don't have to, I call AAA -- they say a MINIMUM of 90 minutes wait, so I say to heck with it and change it myself. At least from there home, there were no problems.

ugh that sucks!
my heart goes out to the poor C2 :(
My christmas went great.
I will have to do it all over again on Sunday for the family members that couldn't make it yesterday.
too much fun.
I even enjoyed the snow and shovelling both last night and this morning.
my contour does awesome in the snow, especially on those sweet f'in Pirelli's I got on there.

Well I had a safe Christmas, tho I almost bought it twice driving to relatives...
1st time was coming down 93N when someone 3 cars behind me spun out & hit the wall. They also took someone with them and cause quite a mess (nothing serious it seemed). It was like watching a movie scene play out in my rear view. Oddly it was a clear, dry night.
2nd time was that **** storm we had last night. I was coming home and certain parts of 93S & Rt. 24 have no lighting and visibility was practically zero. The snow really started sticking bad to the roads and I had that scary "splash from the other traffic lane" cover my windshield with slush, combined with the turn the highway was making I was seriously hoping that I just stayed on the road. Luckily nobody I saw was broken down or in an accident.

Very nicely done people. I had only one call out of a triple shift. And it was for some guy who forgot he was boiling his babies pacifier. But boy am I tired. And I'm back at work tonight. What a crappy snow storm. But kudos to the cougar with the snow paws on. I was skeptical about Hankook at first, but they handled sweetly in the snow when I was driving during the shift change.
I hope everyone has a great New Year too! Hopefully I can pull off the New Years Trifecta for overtime too. Man is my check gonna be awesome next week. Three shifts of double time!!!! Just in time for the new brakes I need.
