Pioneer DEH-6400P Problems

I've had this head unit for 6 months, never abused, and very rarely do I detach the front panel, so I know it's not the contacts. In the last week, if I leave the car off for more than 8 hours, the equalizer settings all return to 0 (zero), but all other settings, including the clock, stay set properly! I know it can't be a system short, because then everything would reset...

Does any one have any ideas on what I could do, short of returning/replacing the unit?

should be under warranty, just take it back and get a new one.

The player's memory can't hold it's own. Return it under warranty and get a new CD player.
