Hello all, I just bought a 99 V6 Cougar yesterday, and I wasn't aware there was a reverse lockout on it. The shift knob on it is worn and faded so I wanted to put on a MOMO. Does anybody know if a MOMO knob will fit or not? Will the reverse lock out get in the way? Thanks

There are two options you can either buy one that is specially made to accept the reverse lock out feature or you can just remove the reverse lock out all together!! All you do is unscrew the shift knob undo the zip tie that hold the boot tight to the rev lock out assembly, once that is done you just simply pull the whole rev lockout assembly off and then put on your new knob and figure a way to attatch the boot tight to either the shifter or the new knob!!

it took me like 5.6 sec to get my reverse lock off of my car to put my Momo knob. I like it so far.

/Shameless plug mode on/
I have a B&M shifter knob for sale for that allows the use of the reverse lockout if you want to keep it.
/shameless plug more off/

Try PTuning (http://www.ptuning.com) for MOMO knobs

anyone have any idea on how "universal" the Momo ATX knobs are?

I have a Momo shift knob on my car and I still have the reverse lockout. They do make them to fit a vehicle with reverse lockout.
