I should be able to beat that, or come damn close, once spring comes around.

There are actually a few Marks that can do better than that time. Not that mine is one of them.

once my friend gets his car insured he'll be glad to take you on with his VR-4.....after he's done modding it should have around 450 horses.

I won't win either. He'll get me by a car length. But how often do you get a chance to race an 84 'Z turbo?? Very rare!

nice mod list! i have more mods nad a 75 shot without the MSD window switch?!?! what does that thing do? waht are you running with taht stuff? I have run mine n/a with intake, exhuast(apparently pacesetter looses hp?!?), svt uim and tb, diablochip(crappy in my opinoin, talking to someone about getting it reburned), ford wirez, bosch plugz, fidanza flywheel, and teh svt tranny mount with poly insert....

i got a 15.0 constant runs and a 14.9 as my best shot ever... but that was on a G tech... now i have more mods

i have a 75 shot, svt lim, 19#, 80mm maf, injen intake, gutted precats, venom 400 ecu controller, probably more i forget....

what could I run?!? i have koni's and roush with front and rear stbs for suspension and 18's with 225/45/18 rubber.... what's your guess? I was hoping for 13.'s but i dont' know...

I think i can get itno the mid 14's n/a.... BTW i luanch at about 4000rpms and get little to no wheel spin... it's all in the feathering and handling of the clutch :)

The window switch is a device used to keep one from over revving the engine when using n2o on an mtx. It works by using the rpm signal from the ecu. It has little pills that hold a certain value that plug into the side of it. For example, I have pills values of 3500rpm and 6500rpm plugged into mine. So when my tps sees that I am at wot and the window switch sees that I am at 3500rpms, the nitrous will begin to spray. Then at 6500rpms the window switch will see that and shut off the nitrous flow. These rpm values are completely adjustable by purchasing the pills separately.

80mm maf??? Why? I read in the past that there were people losing hp cause of such a large maf. Then again if you have larger intake piping it only makes sense. I have a 2.5" cai pipe and 73mm maf. I hate the maf to death!! It causes such embarrassment. My car doesn't idle very well since it's install. Sometimes my car will just die when I press the clutch and brake at the same time. It is so annoying. My starter is going to go out if this keeps up.

I have never heard of anyone launching at such a high rpm before. I launch at 2500 with a digital progressive controller handling the n2o flow so that I don't have so much wheel spin and hop.

What you run in the quarter has so many variables. It is impossible to say. I know that next track season I am going to throw some drag radials on the front and dump the clutch in hopes to drop another 0.1 or 0.2!

lots of variables yes... what have you run with your set up? I have no idea what size intake pipe i have? I have the injen... i think they have 3 inch pipes but I have no clue.

what nitrous system are you running? and I need this window controller! sounds like a good thing to have :) it would be a ***** if the NOS kicked in right off the bat in 1st haha.... is there anyway that you can set the window switch to a higher level in 1st? say start at like 4250? if i launch like normal i'll be a toasty duck with an extra 70ish hp and what 50 lbso f tq? ouch, roast em up! haha. I used to launch at 2500 but that was with my crappy stock 15's, then i got the stock 16's and I ran it a 3250... now I have 18's on roush springs, no konis on htere yet..... and I run it at just below the 4000 mark, so I think i can do 4000 with the koni's no problem... I can take my friends 11 second camaro off the line for about 10 feet the he's gone :)

I ran a 13.87 last fall. If I were better prepared I believe I would have done better. By prepared I mean, lowered the tired pressure, removed the 4 subs and 2 amps, possibly the back seat, put in the 150 zets and had my ported uim back on. I also had my old intake on as I was reconstructing the new one that my duratec wears. It was a sudden decision to go to the track that day.

I believe the Injen intake is 2.75" or 3", but then again it sucks in heat. I removed my battery from the engine compartment and made a cai from some hardware store parts. My old one was made of rubber elbows. The new one is made of bent ABS plastic. I hope it doesn't hold the heat in.

I am using the Nitrous Express Ford efi kit. No there is only one starting rpm that the window switch will use. That is one of the reasons that I got the digital progressive controller. I have it programmed to give only 40% boost at the initial starting cycle and increase to 100% over a period of 3 secs. By then I am in second gear and the cycle starts at 50% boost and goes to 100% in 2 secs. Then for third gear it starts at 60% boost and goes to 100% in 2 secs. 70% for 4th gear over a duration of 2 secs till full boost. It is a pretty cool traction control device. Costs out the butt!! It saves on tire wear and tranny though.

I'll race you in my winter beater
91 Geo Prizm!!!!!!!!
But I don't race fairly so don't get mad when:
I take off on the count of "1"
and swerve into the side of your car when you starting flying past me.

 j/k

Plus 12.70 is not "low 12's"

Thats what I love about my Z. You dont see many and some people dont know about them. Sometimes I get these stupid Hondas trying to race and I do everything in my power not to race... but sometimes I have to show them whos boss. I just max out in second gear which is like 70mph then slow down to a 40mph then like 2 mins pass and they do the ricer fly by once they catch up.

I did once run a 12.32 @118 last august at the track, but I was boosting like 20psi and and once I hit 3rd gear I almost lost control. I cannot duplicate that time for some reason. I think I need to rebuild the motor because I am running stock internals.

Raben

By next fall I'd race :)

TDC STAGE 2X "OUTLAW" UP TO 550 RWHP+ (http://www.turbodrivenconcepts.com/mustanggt.html)

I plan on having the turbo setup by then, depending on money due to the baby :)

I'm just debating if I want the 2X or the 2XX, but I have alot of strengthen mods ahead of me before I run this setup. Don't think the block would hold as it is.

DTADRIAN

I sold the owner of Turbo Criven Concepts a F-350 last year. You will murder me with stage 2. but if you want your motor to last you gonna have to change to forged turbo pistons and get new rods. your better off getting your engine rebuilt with Hi-Performance internals that can take the beating. Dont get me wrong the Mustang motor can handle alot but overtime it will fail.

If you want to save money you can prolly get a set of pistons made to your specs for under 600 bux from BRC. Get metal head gaskets.

If you need some help in finding parts I can help. We have many crazy people here in miami.

Sweet man! :)

Yea that's the thing, I'm up here in Nashville, TN and finding good performance shops is hard to get. I have found someone who could rebuild my engine but debating on exactly what I want. Right now it's my everyday driver until I find another decent street car.

So far only mods I have is in my sig. I just got the exhaust in place this weekend. I'm estimating I gained maybe 15 to 20rwhp out of it, if lucky. My next steps is the brakes and suspension. And ofcourse rebuilding the engine :)

Thanks man.

I'll race you with the cougar. I'll probably still lose. My friend has a Syclone that runs 11's that should be able to beat you. When he kicks the boost up to 27psi and fills his ice chest in the bed with dry ice (has intercoolers in it for engine cooling) he'll be a fun race :).

DTADRIAN
01-11-2003, 02:07 PM
not that great on the twisties... I mostly have this for drag racing, These older Z dont like to handle the curves good. altho I did take a turn once at almost 60mph but I will never do that again.

Hes coming on here "who wants to race" not me, sorry, my cougar atx will be 200ft from starting line bucking in 1st gear from ****ty fuel pump. If he had a 13 second cougar i would be impressed. So, STFU folks. ;) Keep the slams to a minimum, or we'll have a third locked thread. Twins are nice, triplets are better. ;)
