Hello, first off I guess I should say I'm a new Cougar owner. Picked up a 2002 35th anniversary Edition about 2 weeks ago.
I've already installed an AEM intake. Future plans include a dual exhaust of some kind but don't have the cash right now.

Since it was relativly free I have been thinking of gutting the pre-cats. However I'm a little hesitant of this mod. Is there anyone relativly close to Des Moines or the Twin Cities (family) that has done this mod before that wants to earn ffree beer and dinner or something after the mod is done.

Hey welcome to the Midwest NECO.

I want to gut mine too but Ihave no clue how and nobody in the midwest neco has tried it. I am going to the Hard-core kitty convention in MAY that is in INDY... they might have a workshop there that would show us how to do that.

My and my dad plan on doing this to my car the week after xmas.. we've got a garage with a pit you can drive the car over, so that should help out and make this a bit easier. I will take pix during the process and letya all know how it goes.

I've read the how-to. I'm pretty good with working on stuff. Hell I've stripped my relativly new cycle to the frame and done alot of major mods to that.
I guess I would just feel more comfortable on something like this if I had someone that's done it before help me out.
I also don't really have a decent place to work on it either since I live in an apt....
Ket us know when you get those pics Ketchup. I would definatly be interesed in looking at them and your take on the difficulty level of the mod.

Hey Brantly, if you need some help doing it sometime next week or next weekend i think i am free. I live north of Marshalltown about 10 miles so it isn't too far away from here. Cuz i was wanting to do this to my car sometime too.

Casey, I think I have gained enough courage to do this. Current plans was to do it x-mas day at my work. If your free and want to join me I could probably get both cars in the the building. we could do both cars together, you'll need your own jack and stands though...
