Try a good polish and see if that works! Otherwise you may have to get the thing color sanded.

you, like many of us, have a black car... wat else can i say? u can see EVERYTHING on a black car. spirals are common with usage. using a polish together with a light compound, with a buffer would help take alot of hte spirals. "cut" it with the buffer and you'll get a much better shine and blacker paint (take a look at my cougardb profile).

dude, all black cars have swirls, but the following steps will make it look perfect again:

- Clay Bar
- 3M Swirl Mark Remover for Dark Colors
- Meguires Polish
- Meguires Gold Class Wax...

I guarantee it will glow after that...

the clearcoat has been scratched. stop taking your car through the automatic car wash.

I second that!! I have a black cougar as well and that process works really well if you're like me and don't trust yourself with an electric buffer (don't want to burn the clearcoat off)...I use Wizard's clay with Zymol or Meguiar's detailer spray. Gold Class wax RULES!!!

THAT is the real answer.... just make sure of which grade of compound u use... to heavy and u will buff the clearcoat off!

Also if you have never used a high speed buffer before dont start on your cougar.....if u let it sit on one of those nice edges too long you will see what your primer looks like ...try it on the old ladys car first!!!!!
