These are....... THE COOLEST F-ING VIDEOS I HAVE EVER SEEN! And I feel so ****ty tonight that I needed this so much it's unbelievable. But that's another story for another time.

WOW. That was amazing. DSL rules and so does wasting prolly a million or two to kill a couple dozen guys. I love the way they were just leading the targets - the dude's runnin like mad as bombs are exploding behind him then...bye bye taliban:biggrin: You think life's tough...then you F- with America. If that was an AC-130 those weren't bombs they were shells out of their cannons. I think they have something like 1 60mm cannone 2 40mms and like 8 20 mms. They just circle overhead and direct the fire out of one side and waste whatever they shoot at. Very impressive machines.

I'm guessin the AC-130 was circling but not doing the firing. My money is on the AC130 circling and paiting the targets with a laser- then the attack/bomb aircraft cruise over, drop tha stuff, and badoom- dead talis.
The video monitor looks just like tha laser dohicky... We should consult Matt on this one but I think I'm right. you even hear at one point the guy says something about 10-seconds...I think he was tellin the guy pointing the laser how long till the next strike aircraft were in range to drop the laser guided bombs since there was a pause before any more exploded. I dunno- Maybe Ive been watchin too much TV:stupid:

Sled, I'm guessing since it's an AC-130 gunship, it's the gunship doing the shooting. An AC-130 is a pretty big effin' aircraft to use as a laser pointer. You usually paint targets w/ something a wee bit smaller.
But, I could be wrong...

Actually I believe there are special forces on the ground "painting" the targets. Or they are just telling them what the targets are. Did you notice the Arab speaking guy helping them?

Yeah that was definitelythe gunship doing the shooting. Those shells do explode like that and if it was bombs coming from other planes there would be no way that they could lead them into the people running like that. I am captain military buff even though I am not in the military. I have been going to airshows and what not since I was like old enough to walk. There's several pictures somewhere of AC-130s friing at night and it's motion capture so the plane is sitting there but theres this cone of red shells coming down from it. I'll try and find some pics of it somewhere a little later on. I also have a big model of one of these hanging in my parents basement. Very Badass.

Ok this page here (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/ac-130.htm) is the tits on info and pics of the beast. It has pictures and info on each of the cannons and countermeasures employed and other pictures of the plane flying and firing.

Edited with the cone of fire picture. The caption under the picture on the page I found it stated that this is a shot of an AC-130 Spectre friing on Vietnam. The lines are the tracer fire taken with time elapse film.

I don't know...
For some reason I am thinking Puff the Magic Dragon was a nickname for a helicopter though. I may be wrong though.
