I saw a 2001 black cougar yesterday at work. The thing about it was that it had 2 gold stripes along the side. The "cougar" and "v6" badges were also gold, and the rimms(stock cougar) were tinted gold (like those suburu wagon rimms, if you know what i mean). This did not look like a custom job, it looked straight out of the factory. Plus there was like a 40yr old woman driving it, so i dont think she modded it. I wasnt aware of any option like this available on cougars, could someone elaborate?

might have been some kind of package done by a dealership in your area, never seen anything or heard anything about this being a widely released package though

gold rims - EWWWW!!!!

Yeah, I bet it's a dealer add-on. Sounds like the old hoopty Towncars I used to see rollin' around town with all the gold trim. Course, that was back before the "bling-bling" revolution...

Yeah I've seen a few cougars around here with gold cougar and v6 emblems on the rear.

There's some guy that goes to my school (NJIT) who has a '99 Black Coug with gold badging, duals, and head/taillight covers, haven't gotten a chance to talk to him yet though...

They're called goldtones - usually dealer packages offered.

I went to a dealership down here and they tried to tell me that my 35th Anniversary package was just a dealer package.

What's wrong with gold rims though? I think they look sharp if on the right car...

yeah, theres also some stores / shops that are able to make gold lettering... or cover the things you have in gold...

i never heard of dealerships having packages for that stuff.. but hey, i wont doubt you :)

ok - bright shiny gold = still ewwww

bigkat - looks tight w/ your paint colour. how'd you do that?

keliente - to each her own - i agree, the right gold with the right colour. i just like silver w/ my black coug, but that's me.

all the power to whoever want gold rims. just not my style.

starshower: thanks :)
I was just giving u a hard time actually

as for getting the rims painted, I just brought it to this guy I know who runs a body shop, and he painted them for me for $150. sounds expensive, but it was the cheapest price I found. I had it done this past summer, and it looks to be holdiong up well so far
