Well, the Verdicts are still for sale, but yesterday I took a drive up to CT to pick up my ZN wheels. I bought them off of this guy on Ebay and decided to pick them up to avoid shipping. What a freakin' project! I ended up leaving not until 3pm and then picked up my bf and then there was mad traffic. Through Mapquest and this guy's directions and taking a few wrong turns, we ended up at his farm.. We were in the boonies and it was so scary driving around there at night...looked like a scene out of a horror movie. There were goats and ducks running around the place. He must have had at least 15 cars parked on the grounds...all with no plates and random parts removed. The barn was filled with car parts. The guy was such a pack-rat, but really nice. So, in the rain and mud we got all four wheels and tires in my trunk.

So, he's asking about my car and saying how good it looks. Then he's like, I have parts from other '99, '00 and '01 Cougars. I'm curious, so I ask him if he's got any gauges from the '01. He's like, yeah sure. So he rummages around and pulls out the gauges but the lense was badly cracked. He's like, here take it, you can appreciate these things and I'm not going to make any money off of Ebay selling it. I was like, cool. Now I have '01 gauges! But I can take the lense from my current gauges and replace it? Because it doesn't look like it has clips to take it off. Suggestions? Ohhh, mod meet!

Anyway, it was a long day and I put 300 miles on my car and we got home a little before 9pm. And we didn't even make it out to the bar last night because we were so tired :( Oh well. So, after I clean off the Verdicts this week, they're going on Ebay, too!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

oh man. nice!!! if he gave you the entire Cluster then its a simple swap of guage faces. no need to swap everything else. basically if you have the part with the numbers printed on it then you should be set and could just take yours apart and swap faces. otherwise i think you have to change other stuff too. should take like 20-30 minutes to take dash apart and gauge cluster. maybe an hour total. congrats

edit: maybe a little more as you'll have to recalibrate the needles. the hardest part of that is driving and putting the needle in at a steady speed.

Yup, I got the whole cluster. As long as I have you guys to help me take my car apart (and have the tools to do it with), I'm not worried! We can do this, right? I'm so excited! Yessssss. Go me.

Matt and I are pros at taking apart the whole dashboard to install gauges. We have done it numerous times. Does this mean more pics of us working on your car for the website?
BTW, you can thank me for givin ya the wheel hook-up!
And what other kind of cougar parts did the guy have? I'm curious as we may have to get creative!

Hey, I'll owe you guys big time if you can hook me up installing those gauges! And I'll give this guy an email and see what else he has lying around. I saw tail lights and a few other pieces scattered in his barn. There might be a bit more since he's got parts from 3 different Cougars. I'll let you know.

And yes, Pablo. More pictures! Can I actually get in one for a change?! I want my gorgeous mug on the website

Dont worry, me and pablo can put those gauges in no problem. We just first need you to sign a release, have two backup gauges, dont care about your radio, and by the way, you dont care if your needles actually move right????????? ahahhaha just kidding. IM sure it will be no problem
