i need some help choosing a sub...i wanna get just 1 sub...maybe one 10 or one 12...im not looking to impress anyone, i just want to add some deep bass. if u could suggest a amp that would suit a sub that would be great, thanks for your help!
edit: im looking for a sub that hits w/ real tight bass...i hate when bass rumbles like in a bandbass box

The bass is never tight it is what you're other drivers make it sounds tight and crisp, but the woofer or subwoofer by it self in never tight. Anyway, My choice for the amp or the sub would be phoenix gold. Being using their equipment for years and never had any problems. as far as which PH? will depend on how much you can afford. they have recently released new line and it is a beast. Good luck on choosing the right stuff, but do check out
Phoenix Gold. (http://www.phoenixgold.com/tielite12d.html) and their amps phoenix gold (http://www.phoenixgold.com/tiampmodels.html)

I have been running PG products for a while now, mostly their amplifiers, and I must agree they are great. Currently I switched over to Boston Pro speakers. I think my 1 PG 400ti matched with 1 Boston Pro 12.5 gives a very nice a responsive setup with onely one sub and amp. If i had 2 grand to blow it would be PG's 1200.1 and there new elite woofer
For subs, I like the Kicker Solobarics (square subs). I have only an 8" in my car, and this pounds good! I put my buddies 2 12" in my car, and there was very little difference in sound. Plus the 8" doesnt take up much room.
