I cant seem to get these damn bolts off...of the motor mount-front roll restrictor.
they just wont budge at all
Am i doing something wrong here?

also the y pipe ones are the same...but I understand because they are subject to so much heat

I dont have power tools and it gets real old real fast when you hit your hand on the tranny

Awww, man; I don't think I could have done it without the power tools. It would almost be worth it to buy a $100 air compressor and driver. That's rough, dude.

Sorry, I have been NO help at all. I'm just sympathizin.

Couple of methods that might work. First try dousing the bolts with PB Blaster for a good 1/2 hour, and when trying to remove them get a good old persuasion bar (pipe that will fit over end of ratchet) for more leverage.

If that doesn't work, you can try heating up the bolts with either a heat gun or acetylene (CAREFULLY!!!) torch to try and loosen them up, again followed with a persuasion bar.

If that doesn't work, beg and plead to your friend with a high quality impact wrench and compressor!!!

try to get a longer wrench or ratchet. or you can stick a pipe over the handle of the wrench or ratchet to give you better leverage. the length of the bar really makes a difference. i have done this to every lil stuck bolt and it works. bumdiggity and his bro installed just the front solid motor mounts on mine and they used the same technique. im assuming ur installing these same solid motor mounts?, did you get both front and back?

They are pretty decent and have a lifetime warranty.

Best advice is to use a 6pt socket not a 12pt.

I too have air tools so I can just sympathize ;)

I don't think anyone else mentioned it, but you should probably soak the bolts with WD-40, and let it sit for a little while before going to work on them. That made removing my Y-Pipe a whole lot easier.

I will try again when I get a better set of sockets
anyone recommend any other brands of socket sets?

Its kinda hard to get leverage also cuz the car can only be jacked so far
off the ground

Soloflex, increases your muscle mass in 20 minutes a day, 3 days a week = no need for a breaker bar.

Which bolts are you having trouble with on the front roll restrictor? The trans bolts, the subframe bolts, or the pass through bolt? The trans bolts I use a box end ratchet (only 6 inches long for you leverage freaks), the pass through bolt is easy with a 3/8" ratchet and 6 point short socket, the subframe may require a deep 6 point depending on how deep your shallow sockets are to clear the nubs of the bolts. Any good brand will do, Snap On, Craftsman, etc... heck, even Wal-mart brand Popular Mechanic's will work fine for budgeteers...

The nice thing about Craftsman is if you strip it, crack it, whatever- just take it to the counter at Sears and they hand over a fresh one, no questions asked. I've gotten so many free replacements that way...

Popular Mechanics has the same type of warranty. Snap On will deliver another one to your door... Lifetime warranties are very common now a days...

The reason i couldnt get the bolts off is cuz the sockets stripped
I cant reattempt something until I get new better sockets.
Mine were old

And I do not need any soloflex my friend, my muscle mass
is plenty big
