You win the insanity contest, Mike. I don't think I could survive working more than 14 hours in a day, which is the most I've ever done. Then again, I don't have a real job, so I really don't know. Good luck, and do try to come home by Saturday night and catch some sleep. :wave:

I just got off of work and I'd turn in for the night but I caught a brief nap at work not long ago for an hour and I'm not tired. Ah well. At least I don't work the rest of the week. :disgust:

It is better to have worked than not to have a job.. :biggrin: I've done a few 48 and 72 hour stints before but that was when I was helping Edison on the light bulb.. ;)

I dont think being on NECO for 36 hrs qualifies as working or if you actually were actually working(god forbid)maybe if you wernt on here so much the problem wouldnt have accured!

Actually, the problem was that a critical backup server was 'given' to my group but the former group that owned it never told us about it. The server backs up major financial/sales databases... but it's not listed in any inventory as a critical server, there's no service or support contract on it, and it's the only system in our data center that runs on an IBM Netfinity server. It broke, and they tried to fix it but couldn't because they didn't have the proper hardware to repair it. They all have their heads up their asses, so I found a server, built a new server, repaired the robotic tape library, configured and calibrated the robotic tape library, waited for 6 hours for networking to figure out what the hell was wrong with the network between the new server and the robotic tape library, then I had to configure NDMP, get fresh tapes for the library, configure and set up NetBackup server, recover some of the lost data from disk, then spent 20 more hours going through each individual (of 600) DLT tapes to find which tape had the index backup on it because the geniuses prior to me didn't record the data.
:) In a nutshell, I fixed somebody else's stupid broken stuff. My servers never crash. :)
