Well, since I recentley got into an accident with my Cougar. It is turning out to be the best Christmas for my new Coug. Unfortunately since my insurance check is written in my name and the body shop's name I can not get aftermarket parts for it for some reason(hint anyone work at a body shop that can do this). I need basically a new front end and Driver side door! What can I say, I spoil my car more then my girlfriend. I must say, I have never spent more money and its not even mine! LOL 2,558.86 in damage. Damn...be nice to get a front bumper, carbon fiber hood, and aerogear fenderz on my car but no!!! They won't let me.

The body shop I use will let you pay the difference between the stock and aftermarket parts and use the aftermarkets instread... I guess it's up to the shop though. I don't see why they would care about it as long as they're getting paid. ;)

ya that's what i figured... i was wondering instead of them fixing it...why not just replace it with the parts and paint. LOL I'm lazy and I want my Cougar to get some modds while its going in. Not fare...it would save me time later to do it now since its going in the body shop instead of taking time todo it later when I have my own money...hehe

Are they repairing it or replacing it? If they are repairing it, I can see why they won't upgrade to the aftermarket parts... If they are replacing it, there is no reason why you can't pay the difference for the upgrades. Ask them about it, it's still the same amount of paint and such, but you'd have to pay for extra labor and parts.

I have todo a hole Unibody alignment and everything. I dont see what the big deal is. I couldn't afford the extra's at Nicks Auto Body. It would have been like 800$ Dwamn...I can barely afford my car payment let alone x-mas shopping and crap.

Join the club of wrecked cougars.

Don't get discouraged. My car went through 8 grand in repairs including a frame alignment. They can take a licking....

did you have aftermarket work done already or stock? I'm now getting aftermarket put on my Cougar thanks to Troy at furious imports...

Oddly enough I had ordered z3 fenders prior to the accident. I dropped off the fenders at the shop and had them installed. Since I took damage to one of the fenders it was covered for that side only. I plan on taking it to Furious Imports for further cosmetic "surgery" as collision body shops do NOT give the TLC we desire. Body work at the shop I went to was good, however paint quality (durability) is something left to be desired. Stick with Furious Imports. If you need to get work done at 2 shops so be it.

1 for correcting body/structure damage
2 for body work

As soon as my girlfriend sends me the pictures in email I will be able to post them. Grrr....she very forgetful even at the simplest of tasks(J/K). Might be dropping it off Monday night afterwork or Tuesday. Not sure...depends what kind of mood I am in.

Have you checked out the new kits from aerogear? If not you should. I do believe they are posted in the vid/pics section. Those kits are sweet. Maybe you can try to workout a deal with them or something. Who knows?

Just tossing out some ideas. Theres more bumpers and kits available for our car now.

I would if I could afford it after they do all that work. I'm also going to be ordering headlight covers as well to get painted and put on. I can't waite too get my car back. I doubt I'll be able to pocket a little money for sideskirts...but if I do I'm getting some. Everytime I looked out the window and didn't see my car their I thought someone stole it. THen I remember where it was. I can't waite to see what happens when I leave for work in the morning. No car sucks...I was sitting home for 3 hours bored out of my mind!!!!!!!!!!!! My kitty is getting detailed as soon as I get it back. That I can assure you. Anyone with a Cougar got a garage? I'll do theirs as well while I am doing mine. Preferre heated :)
