I was out with my girlfriend Saturday night and we were on our way to the mall. I was turning right onto Washington Ave. Ext. (washington ave is a 4 lane highway, speed limit is 55, the mall is right off of it.) I was turning right at an intersection and the right lane is a separate merging lane (with a 200 foot merging lane after the turn) and there is just a yield sign. So I slowed and saw that all traffic coming from the left was stopped (it looked as if there light was just about to turn green). I made the turn staying in the merging lane and gunned it, used my blinker to merge left, got up to about 70, intake was screaming, she sounded smooth and great. No cars were in front of me or behind me the whole time I was on this section of road. I go around the natural bend in the road and I am slowing at this point to about 60, and I have about 300 more feet to go till my turn. Well in my rear view, around a bend through the guard rail legs, I saw a pair of headlights screaming right along to catch up to me. So I slowed to 55. Next thing I know it's a cop riding my ass like a fly on dog sh*t. I slow it down to 50. There is a right hand merge lane to turn right. I use my blinker to get in the right lane, I down shift and get to 45, then I slow and take my right-hand turn as the cop passes me.

I figured the cop was in the pack of cars coming from the left at the red light back at the intersection I took the right hand turn at. There are no spots along that short section of road were a cop could sit and wait to get radar on someone.

So do you think that I was causing more of a danger to the people driving around me, or the cop cutting in and out of traffic to catch up to me to do whatever he wanted to do, because obviously I was driving treacherously? (I hope I laid the sarcasm on thick enough) :disgust:

A lot of cops are natural born assholes. Dont get me wrong, some are cool, but most arent.

That happened to me once, i was revved at by another cougar, so i naturally revved back to say hey. He turned right and i turned left onto a major road. Passing by nothing but trees and parking lots doing 2-3 UNDER the speed limit because it was late and i drive carefully after 10. No cars around me, just empty cruisin road. A car came screaming up out of nowhere and stuck on my A$$, i was in the middle lane of a 3 lane road so he could have gone around me, i noticed it was a cop just riding me butt for fun. When we got to a different county line...he turned around and went back to wherever he came from. Kinda sucked but oh well, waisted his time.

I had something like that happen to me, but the cop did pull me over and when he asked why I was driving like that (I never broke the speed limit) I told him "The a-holes lights behind me were blinding me, so I was just trying to get away from him" Well, he ended up being the A-hole and he let me off scott free... I was amazed that a cop actually did his job and didn't find some :bs: reason to ticket me

If you want to have some fun, turn on your windshield sprayers when a cop is all over your butt like that, and if he stops you to ask why you just gave him a bath say a big bug just splatted your windshield, and it was obstructing your view. I did this once with a big smile....of course it was the dead of winter...no bugs ANYWHERE. What was he going to ticket me for? Spraying my car while he tailgated me?

same happened to me, but i got pulled over too. I think it's some kind of trap. You'd be doin the speed limit, some idiot comes right behind you, causing you to go faster to get away from him, and boom, you get pulled over for speeding. (I did NOT do this, I was already speeding when the cop saw me lol)

back in the good ol days when i had my 2G eclipse....

i was coming home from college, driving down a mountain on a windy back road. As i was driving down a car came up behind me and tailgated me for a mile. The speed limit was something redicously low..like 25. I was going about 30 or so riding my brakes the whole way all the headlights from the car behind me where about 5 feet from my rear bumper...sooo the first straight away i found i slammed the car into 2nd gear and when i reached 70 mph i slowed down..then when i looked in my rear veiw i saw waaaay back the car studden lighting up with blue lights...so i pull over and tell the cop...

COP: what where you thinking SON?
ME: We'll officer you where riding me Ass...so i accellerated to put a safe distance between us.
COP: oh...well if i where a city cop it have to ticket you!
ME: thank you officer byebye

The other weekend I had a cop pull me over for going about 5 over the limit. He was so much on top of my car that just for fun when he was pulling me over I stopped short. When I looked back I was surprised he had not actually hit me cause our bumpers were practically kissing.

Not nice to do but I wasn't going that far over speedlimit and I was polite when he came up to talk. There wasn't a ticket but I did get a warning.

I crested a hill once on a 2-lane interstate doing about 80 (in a 65) side-by-side with another car and, as I'm sure you can all guess, there was a cop at the bottom of the hill. I know when I'm nailed, so I didn't slam on my brakes or anything 'cause all that could do is start a pileup or something along those lines. Anyway, we get about 50-60 yds down the road and the guy who was next to me in the left lane quickly decelerates and jumps in behind me in the right lane. I basically just let off the gas and let my engine slow me down rather than lighting up the brake lights, and right about that time the cop is pulling out onto the road with his rack lit up and his headlights going, etc. Anyway, for some reason I decided to just stay on the road as I gradually decelerated rather than pulling right over which might have worked in my favor because the cop actually blew past me at what I'd have to say was at least 90-100mph merged into the right lane about 10 car lengths in front of me and got off at the next exit. Of course, I *didn't* and hoped not to see him getting back on the road in my rear-view mirror.

Either he did it just to scare me and basically say, "I could have if I wanted to," or he coincedentally got a call at exactly the moment we crested the hill and was just responding to that - highly unlikely. ANYway, I guess I'm pretty lucky!
