i think i've felt that on occasion from 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. it's like you depress the clutch and as soon as you touch the shift knob, it just kinda pops into neutral. doesn't happen alot, so i don't worry about it.

Think of it as an automatic with a shift knob :) It'll make your shifts faster I bet!
this happens to me every now and then only in higher rpms. i know it isn't good but it almost assists in the shift therefore making it easier and faster. and yes, i can drive my car quite well. haha

Mine does it between 1st and 2nd alot. It helps the sift out some though. But I also have a problem with it wanting to pop back out of second once I start to accelerate again. That definately doesn't help the time.

you both have the lower class engines ... you shayne should have an 8, and chris should have a six!! :slap:

I get it too once in a while, when i'm really going through the gears.... my guess is that you are simple popping the car in neutral before you hit the clutch.
it does the same thing when I do clutchless shift.....
which will not hurt your tranny.

On the V6 there is a cable adjustment. It lets the shifter go more forward, backward on one cable and left or right on anther. If you let it go more forward it should stay in first better and not pop out. When I had to adjust this I had serious transmission problems though. It may help but if you adjust it to much you won't be able to get into the bottom gears (2nd, 4th, reverse).
If you turn you wheels all the way to the right and have someone in the car move the shifter a bit you can look in the wheel well with the hood open for some light and see the cables moving. There is an orange clip in a plastic peice on both cable ends that you can push in and the cables can get shorter or longer. Extending the cable should make it go into first better. Figure out what one moves when you just move the shifter forward and backward and thats the one you should adjust. I say if its under warrenty still bring it in and have them adjust it so you don't mess it up but if not you may want to try it.
